Yeah I don't understand this trade by the Rockets. You had the Knicks and Bulls allegedly getting into a bidding war for McGrady's contract which shows it has a lot of value in the market place. Seems like a panic move at the end and the Rockets hand was forced to include Landry in the deal.

I guess we'll have to see how the final deal plays out. Apparently the Knicks are involved in this trade somehow?

Let's see if Morey's right again.

The thinking among the fanbase right now is that Morey had this Martin deal with Sacramento in the back pocket all along. This was discussed earlier in the season but Sacto backed off and declared that they were keeping Martin. When the Knicks and Bulls scoffed at the Rockets' demands, Morey simply went back to Sacramento and got Martin. This stuns Walsh, who thought the Knicks had the best shot, and he backs down to the Rockets and gives us everything we were asking for.

We end up trading two useless pieces (McGrady and Dorsey) and a sixth man for a 25 ppg guy when healthy, a prospect with a high ceiling, and two first-round picks. Taking on Jeffries hurts a little but with Martin's contract we wouldn't have been able to offer more than the MLE anyway this summer. Simply brilliant!

Here's to LeBron/Wade/Bosh not signing with NY.

How funny would it be if the Rockets pulled off a sign&trade using Hill and the Knicks draft picks to acquire Bosh? Walsh would never trade with us again.

Kevin Martin is a bit of a question mark, but this trade seemed to work well for Houston.

This is an all or nothing deal for us and I'm surprised Walsh agreed to this considerably risky move.

I know I'm in the wrong forum, but here's to us landing a big name this summer!

BTW, if the Knicks happen to suck next year for whatever reason and they get the 1st pick, is that choice to swap draft picks deferred to 2013?

I'm not sure when it's deferred to, but probably the next time we don't have the 1st pick. Which will probably be 2013.
