KC reports on Rose's new-found 3 and defensive intensity. Even better, in my mind: That's been the biggest knock so far on Rose, is that his defense have generally been pretty terrible. Getting it up to average and occasionally damn good is a big leap this year. And am I the only one who sees Rose really sort of taking ownership of things over the last couple months? He's really been better across the board, and seems to be putting us on his back since his return from the wrist problem. It's like sitting out and having to watch us get pounded gave him a little more urgency in his game.
It reminds me a lot like his time in memphis. He was good during the regular season, but once march hit, he became the best player in college basketball. If he can keep up the defensive intensity (while developing his j), he'll become an all-nba player in a year or two. I'm just glad he's handling the ball and facilitating it becoming a playmaker rather than his old style of just giving the ball up and letting crappier players create a shot--usually ending in a turnover, or horrible execution.
He needs the 3 pt shot to spring board him into more of a complete player. A star so to speak. Some Bulls fans have noticed his improved defense as well. I hope it continues.
