    This.

I've hated that douche for so long now, what with his "mind games" he plays constantly, to faking an injury to avoid having to watch his team suffer another defeat in Portland...no, keep him as far away as possible from the Blazers.

I would take him here, and be thoroughly happy we got him.

I guess you're a better person than me then

I don't know, I've always rooted against Phil Jackson-coached teams, mostly because of how cocky he is. For me, it'd kinda be like the Blazers hiring Joey Crawford as the new fan ambassador...you know, it just wouldn't feel right.

lol I promise I am not claiming to be better than anyone who says no. I just have taken the stance for a while, that I want a championship. If Phil is the coach that gets us that ring, then I will be fine with it. I have rooted against him for years as well... but for a championship I will swallow whatever pride I have for that.

Pull the trigger. If you ever get a chance to land an elite coach you should jump on the opportunity, and not look back.

Same. I think his attempted "mind games" are silly and ineffective, but he's a top-notch coach.

I think there would be some initial struggles as he implemented the triangle. It is, though, an offense that should work with Portland's players...all of the big three are good passers for their position and Miller and Batum are definitely good passers. A motion offense should also better leverage the high level of athleticism of Aldridge and Oden, rather than having them play static post games.

No it just means Phil is slightly incompetent.

He's old, dude. Cut him some slack. Let's see what you're doing when you're his age, whether you're being PERFECT managing YOUR NBA team. Everyone's a critic.

(Also, when you're managing your NBA team, can I have a job? Thanks!)

Too much air travel for Jackson to want to coach way up here in the corner.

Yes, Phil has a great track record of only coaching the best players in the league. He just said he won't stay with the Lackers if they don't win a title. Talk about a front runner. He's good at picking his spots, so if he picks the Blazers I guess that would be a good sign.

I'd say Phil has a couple of major issues, not just minor stuff.

Um..... our team doesn't have an identifiable offense now or since McMuffin has been here! 1 on 5 clearouts to either side of the court with Brandon having the ball to make the big shot is nothing more than street ball with a great player. I cringe watching just how badlly our offense looks out there as do most people who have played or even watched a well coached college or for that matter high school game.

Phil would bring an offense to this team, and we do have the brain power here with Roy, Nick, Andre and Marcus to put in the triangle. I'm sure of that! People we need an offense and Phil is a proven winner! How could ya not want a coach with a ring for every finger? Come on! Nate can't even make a substitution, when he sees a 10 - 15 point swing happening in a playoff game. If we have a shot at Phil you take it and run. He's also such a personality that he alone gets calls for his team, something Nate hasn't acheived, nor ever will.

Jackson is famous for not even calling a timeout when the opposing team is making a run.

Yea but is that a weakness, or is that part of his coaching philosophy in order to make players be more accountable on the court? Rick Adelman is the same way. By not calling the timeout you force the players to toughen up and play through a rough situation. This in turn makes the players more confident to play through adversity, and saves timeouts for the critical parts of the end game.

Yes that's because he's got an offense in place! He's standing on his coaching ability before the game begins. When our team goes down by 15 in a game it's usually over, there isn't an impressive proven offense to right the course! HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!!
