Thank you. You and I were supposed to have our dogs put down on the same day - but I just couldn't do it until last night. One of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make - sorry you had to go through the same thing.

I guess I should've seen that one coming. That's my bad for my poor grammar. How's this: my dog was also my friend for the last 16 years. Better?

nope. I dont want a season to end until June, no matter the crap. I still LOVE my team. I sat and cheered through games as a kid in the early 90's when it was cool. I sat and cheered through games in the mid 90's and saw like 300 straight 1st round exits. I sat and cheered through Deep playoff runs, and police blotter. I sat and cheered through bottom feeding of the league teams... so I CERTAINLY am going to sit and cheer for this team, that poured their heart and soul out for us, when they had every excuse available to them, to quit but didnt. They didnt quit on themselves, and neither am I! I'm not trying to Rah-rah other people into this team. And yes there have been many frustrating moments this year... but I am DAMNED proud to be a Blazer fan, and am even more proud of my team! Seasons and feelings and adversity like we have endured, will make the first Championship I witness, that much sweeter. I know we wont win this year for sure, and there are many doubts and question marks about winning one with this squad... but my team has fought and will continue to do so until the final whistle, and dammit so will I!

I don't want the season to end, but I wouldn't mind if they put it on hold for a couple of months. I just don't have time for it right now.

No way, I'm not ready for it to end! We've got two more wins to come, and then another series!! This thing is FAR from over.

I'm sorry, but that sounds like a total load of crap to me. If you "absolutely love the Blazers", why would you want the season to end? Are you really that eager for baseball season or something? Any true Blazer fan (or true fan of any team) never wants the ride to end. Sounds like a bandwagon fan comment to me. Let's go Blazers!

part of that would be not listening to 95.5 all day. Most of what they do is awkwardly try to stir shit up. It's not surprising that a regular listener would find themselves focused on perceived/imagined controversies with the club rather then the many good things.

here's hoping that Roy is moving better tonight :)

It's sad that the original poster can't post his or her feelings without being ridiculed. This season has been tough on Blazer fans. We went into the year regarded as a team that could/should push the L*kers in the west, and now are hanging on to a thread hoping to win 2 in a row in the first round. The injuries this season have been horrific, and there is no one who should be made fun of for wanting the madness to end. It would be great if Portland pushed Phoenix to the brink, and amazing if they won. But does anyone truly think we have the horses, or better yet, the refs to get any further?

This season has reminded me of a sick dog that just wouldn't die. The dog keeps kicking, but you know it's suffering. You have resolved yourself to the fact that it is going to die at some point, and you ready yourself for it.

I do agree with this point. I for one apologize if my post came across as ridiculing the OP.. that was not my intent at all. I am all for people voicing their opinions, even if I dont agree.

This has nothing to do with your post, just quoting you to see who I am talking to, I believe that your team in your sig is by far the best one I have seen so far. Wish I would have gotten in on that, was a little busy at the time. Haven't seen all the teams, since it's not all on our board, but there's some really awful teams I have seen. At least yours seems to have good balance. Like the inside out of Bogut and Roy. An obvious upgrade would be at PF, and I think I'd personally start Mbah a Moute at SF instead of Chandler. Have Chandler be your primary scorer off the bench, and Luc as your defensive stopper.

I just don't get all the comparisons of losing a friend or a beloved pet, to watching basketball.
Regardless, why would you want the season to be over? I mean, if the Blazers had gotten swept, or had lost in 5 games, would you really feel better and think "Man, I'm glad that's over." ?

Sadly, I don't think the league ever made it past the draft. But thanks

What's really comical is that I skipped over the OP's dog reference, That was purely coincidental. I don't want the season to be over at all, but I can see how some people might be thinking that. With all that's happened, it's been rough this season.

I can't understand it though. Maybe some people just look at it differently, different types of fans, whatever. I think with as hard of a season as it has been, it leaves me even more wanting a good thing to come of it. Getting out of the 1st round somehow, after everything we've been through, even if we got pounded in the second, would at least feel like we achieved something after everything that happened. With all of the bad news, I would think you'd be hanging on for the slightest bit of good, as opposed to just bailing. I dunno. That's just me. We all look at things differently.

Yes, let's get the season over so the off-season bitching and moaning can begin!

It could be a simple case of ADD. Some people just need change, and see a fresh start as soon as the season is over. Some people probably view it like as soon as there is not a legitimate chance to win a title that they want next year to start because it gives them hope again. It's like Cubs fans holding up signs on opening day that read "Wait til next year"
