Cazares and Nashiro first met September of last year, the last time that either of them had fought entering this rematch. They went to a draw in a highly-competitive fight. They returned to Prefectural Gymnasium in Osaka to meet again on Saturday, and the Mexican Cazares came away the winner on scores of 117-111 (twice) and 115-113. Cazares (31-6-2, 22 KO) is the former long-reigning junior flyweight champion, who was dethroned in a tight contest by Ivan Calderon in 2007. After another close loss to Calderon in a truncated rematch, Cazares moved up in weight and quickly found himself in the title hunt. Nashiro falls to 13-2-1 (8 KO). The AP report described Cazares' performance in this one as "dominant."
