Well the first award has been announced. As expected Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic won his second straight Defensive Player of the Year Award. Howard received 576 total points and 110 first-place votes. Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks finished second with 136 points and Gerald Wallace of the Charlotte Bobcats received 113 points to finish third.

The three ballots above all had Howard number one on their ballot. None of them had Josh Smith on their ballot. Marc Stein of ESPN and the fan with no vote both had Gerald Wallace second on their ballots.

Not sure about the last two awards, the criteria most people used was arbitrary.

Re: NBA Awards Season (Most Valuable Player)

As expected LeBron James was named the NBA's 2010 Most Valuable Player. James of the Cleveland Cavaliers got 116 of 123 first-place votes and earned 1205 points. Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder received 609 points and 4 first-place votes. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers did not receive any first-place votes but finished with 599 points to finish in third. Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic and Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat finished fourth and fifth.

Marc Stein of ESPN had those five players on his ballot with LeBron James first, Howard second, Durant third, Bryant fourth, and Wade fifth. The fan had those five players on his ballot in that exact order. Ian Thomsen of Sports Illustrated had James first, Bryant second, Howard third, Durant fourth, and Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets fifth.

Re: NBA Awards Season (All-NBA Teams)

The 2010 All-NBA teams have been announced.

First Team: Kobe Bryant (Lakers), Dwyane Wade (Heat), LeBron James (Cavaliers), Kevin Durant (Thunder), and Dwight Howard (Magic)

Second Team: Steve Nash (Suns), Deron Williams (Jazz) Carmelo Anthony (Nuggets), Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks), and Amar'e Stoudemire (Suns)

Third Team: Brandon Roy (Trail Blazers), Joe Johnson (Hawks), Pau Gasol (Lakers), Tim Duncan (Spurs), and Andrew Bogut (Bucks)

Marc Stein had all fifteen of these players on his ballot and picked the first team perfectly. However, he had Carmelo on his third team and Andrew Bogut on his second team.

The fan had thirteen of the fifteen players on his ballot. He had Rajon Rondo (Celtics) and Chris Bosh (Raptors) on his ballot instead of Joe Johnson and Andrew Bogut.

Ian Thomsen had fourteen of the fifteen players on his ballot. He did not have Pau Gasol on his ballot, he instead had Al Horford of the Hawks.
