Yes! We get homecourt! Hope we learned our lesson and don't choke it away this year.

We have all the motivation we need, hopefully Drew steps up because we'll be needing him. His ass better not get punked by Perkins.

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers

in a way, this, like you say, should be the case. but pierce can shoot the lights out if need be, plus the celtics have so many reliable weapons on their team, its hard to see where the lakers are going to win against them, perhaps the lakers rebounding, but celtics are damn good at that when they want to be as well.

ive been nervously waiting for the bad artest to make an appearence this season, and it hasnt really occured as of yet, which impressive though it is, he may fold under the pressure of the finals.

Ive put my trust in kobe though. he has shown this team the way into these finals and he has the ability to carry them to the championship. i think it all comes down to is how stubborn is kobe bryant?

last time they faced the celtics in the finals kobe forced his shots, despite knowing all too well that the celtics had found a way to decrease his affect on a game. this year perhaps will be different, kobe is more mature, and a much better player than back then, he has pau who knows his role much better than before, and we will have ron ron and bynum as additions that we did not have the previous finals match-up with the C's.

but kobe carries all those guys, the whole team infact, especially artest. only fisher and perhaps at certain times odom and pau are exceptions to this, but either way, this team needs kobe to really go to work for the team to opperate consistently. if kobe can do that this series then i think lakers will have no problem taking the celtics in 5, maybe 6 games. but if, as last time proved, kobe is greatly effected by the celtics D, then the lakers role players must really prove their worth to elevate the team and capture the wins.

lakers bench has had their moments these playoffs, and perhaps if phil takes a harder line with them, which i think he may do, then they wont make such horrible decisions that ultimately cost us a win.

i dont know too much about boston other than rondo has been lighting it up these playoffs, and thier team has really meshed well despite their "under-parr" regular season. i think the two losses they suffered in thier orlando series, despite the fact that they won in the end, lossed them a lot of that momentum they had against the cavs. lakers will have the upper hand to begin with, having homecourt advantage is a huge plus for the team, they are coming off a very hard fought series win against the suns, and kobe is on a roll, along with artest and odom and fisher. the momentum is definately swaying their way.

if i had to pick now who and how would win the finals, id have to stay biased and say the lakers, but i will say, now, that it will take them 6 or 7 very tough ones to get it.

That fucking Rondo scares me, everything else is okay. Lakers in 6. L.A. can't get pushed around by Boston this year, I think we've matured enough to handle their physical game style better and we also have Artest so... ;D Can't wait, though. Another classic battle 4 sure.

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers

    Lakers in 5.

We are a totally different animal than 2 yrs ago. Pau has been with us for a while, Bynum (healthy or not) is playing, and Artest.

They, on the other hand, don't have Posey, House, or Powe, three guys who came up BIG in 2008.

We are too big for them, and I think we should run as much as possible against them. Try Fish on Rondo, and if that doesn't go well, Kobe on Rondo, Fish on Ray Allen. PP WILL be shut down by Artest. Artest LIVES to shut stars down, it's what he loves to do.

Sheed is washed up. Not worried about him AT ALL.
KG vs. Pau is going to be an interesting matchup. I'm gonna give the slight advantage to the younger Pau. He just has to play tough against KG.

The media keeps playing like Nate Robinson is a threat. PLEASE bring it in against Bynum and Pau. We're BEGGING you.

You are too big for us? Um no. We are probably the only team that you can't say that about. Our big men aren't pussies like yours, either. Celtics in 3.

Wait a minute dammit... Celtics in 3? You thinking after the 3rd game the Lakers are going to throw in the towel and say hell with it? Sounds about right... But I say Celts in 5.

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers

I'll take Lakers in 6. We're a far different team than we were 2 years ago. Having Bynum, healthy or not, will be helpful. Kobe Bryant is currently playing out of his mind, and I think that that's going to continue in to the Finals. And in general, we're a tougher team than we were a couple years ago. Gasol isn't AS much of a pansy as he used to be, and adding Artest gave us another level of toughness we were lacking (not to mention someone to guard either Pierce or Allen, whichever Kobe doesn't guard). I think it'll be a competitive series, but I think the Lakers will take this year in 6 (maybe 7).
