Before February's trade deadline, there was one rumor circulating that outlined a possible trade in which Chris Bosh would be sent to the Lakers in return for Andrew Bynum. Of course, this never happened. But now that Bosh is nearing free agency, the Lakers are reportedly on the list of teams he'd be agreeable to being sign-and-traded to. Bynum, at his best, would be a solid get in return if the Raptors are resolved to losing Bosh. Perhaps only David Lee of the Knicks could bring back more value to the Raptors out of players listed in realistic proposed sign-and-trades for the team. But is Bynum's injury history -- one that's currently on display with his knee injury that's limiting him in the playoffs -- a dealbreaker as far as the Raptors are concerned? If it was up to ESPN's J.A. Adande, it certainly would be. "How can Bynum give them a presence if he's not healthy or can't avoid foul trouble? I'd do it if I were the Lakers. I believe Toronto had some interest near the end of the season, but after watching him limp through yet another playoffs would you take Bynum if you were the Raptors? I wouldn't." Source: ESPN
I think the Raptors would take him if they couldn't work out a different sign and trade, because it'd be a lot better than letting Bosh walk for nothing.
We are going to lose Bosh regardless so getting something in return is necessary. That said, this trade doesn't make me comfortable about the future. That knee scares me bad.
I would do that but I doubt Toronto would do that for Odom or an bench player they want a young player not a veteran like Odom. I'm hoping for that but I just don't see us getting Bosh without giving up Bynum.
The Raptors would own a team option on him after next season if he wasn't working out for them. I agree they can't just let Bosh walk for nothing and Bosh wants that extra year so he's willing to work with them on doing the S&T.
If the Lakers' can get this done, do it, but I seriously doubt it. I think this is just some major pipe dream.
If I were Bosh I'd think about just signing with another team. There's a lot of sacrifice he would have to do here, playing with Pau/Kobe.
Knowing how things work in the NBA, I suspect Bosh will be traded to the Lakers for Derek Fisher, Luke Walton, and a bag of peanuts.
It's not a dream it nearly happened in January, but LA wanted to wait till the summer to do so because they didn't wanna mess up the chemistry.
It would work for LA, I'm not sure it would enhance Bosh's legacy. The Lakers should try to make it happen though, of course.
I don't think we've talked about this but can Cavs get him in sign and trade and team him up with LeBron? It would make sense IMO, he would be his 'Pippen'.
