It should be illegal for the refs to call more fouls than there are minutes in the game. In the finals, off the ball fouls should only be called when they are blatant or excessive.

The NBA isn't doing a great job of selling their product to the casual fans.

Ariza would have helped the Lakers a lot more in this series, younger, more athletic.

How much did Ariza play in 08? I remember Vlad Rad guarding PP and getting lit up.

Ariza barely played, but he wouldn't be able stop PP. Ariza was good against SF's who aren't bigger and stronger. Unfortunately, PP is just that.

In a post-game locker interview with Bynum, he says he wants to take at least 2 games in Boston. Let's make it happen!

Also, I think Ariza was smarter and made better plays, and was better offensively.

Lol, he said we played like dumbasses out there, and he's right. (He played superb though)

Looking at Bynum now, he's only 22 and he's so big. Imagine a couple years from now, I don't think I want to give him up for Bosh TBH, Drew's dominate as hell.

Imagine if he wasn't injured and could play for 40+ minutes.

In no way is this video a "Look why we lost game 2" video. It just simply highlights how horrible the officiating has been. And yes it only shows bad calls on the Lakers but this is a Lakers forum. If you don't like it.... leave.

A little late... but we lost bonly by 9 after a historic performance by allen, a triple double night by rondo and horrendous officiating that limited odom AND kobe. Hope we take game 3! we need it!

Actually both teams got 29 fouls called on them, is that really unfair for the Celtics? They just weren't agressive enough. Lakers got the most horrific calls I've ever seen and it took Kobe out of the game. Let's leave those stats there are focus on the reality, refs were absolute bullshit and I can't remember Celtics getting a very bad call except the block on Bynum

Boston figured out that one of their two guards should have an easy night, and that to counter the Lakers' size advantage they need to get Sheed and Baby involved.

Boston looks like the deeper team.

For all the "our guys didn't play so well but we still came close" logic, the Celtics can say the same thing about KG and Pierce.

The Lakers need Odom and Artest to have big games to win one in Boston. That's assuming all the other Lakers players have their best games and the Celtics players do, too.

Pierce will need to have a 30pt game in the next 2 or 3 games and take over one game at least. KG has to show up at home as well.

The league wants the series to go back to LA again, but as long as we're up 3-2 we'll have 2 chances to finish it, even though game 7 would be damn hard to win. lol

Tonight I expect a close game, could go either way but will say C's win by 3 pts, final score Boston 95-92 The Angels, Rondo with another triple double. Kobe with 35pts.

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers (1-1 tied series)

Not necessarily. The Lakers need to continue what they've been doing and getting the ball inside to Gasol & Bynum. The Lakers don't need Artest or Odom to have big games, but they do need Gasol & Bynum to get the ball more. In Game 2 Gasol and Bynum had only 10 FGAs each. Ron Artest also had 10 FGAs in the game which is inexcusable for the Lakers offense. Our advantage is in the post and our two bigs need to get the lion's share of the possessions.

Boston had no answer for the pick and roll with Kobe & Gasol or Kobe & Bynum. Lakers did a shitty job of re-entry passing in the last game.

Lakers can't lose the rebounding battle again either.

They can start by playing man defense and not double teaming in the post. Gasol can handle KG 1 on 1 and Bynum can handle Perkins 1 on 1. Kobe, Shannon and Farmar need to stop cheating off his man to help down low. I think they also need to use that variation of zone defense to chase Allen around like they did against Phoenix. It requires a lot of communication on defense and organized scrambling.

I think the key is limiting Rondo though. You can't allow him to get out and beat you in transition. Lakers also need to get a body on him when he tries to get offensive rebounds.

Let's get behind the team guys, if all our key players step up, there's no reason why we can't win it, unless the refs have anything to say about it.
I wish Mr. Stern would just tell the refs to stop giving those stupid fouls and let the teams play. a little pushing and shoving is part of any game.

Kobe on Rondo and Fisher on Allen. If Allen is still shooting lights out I think you have to bring Sasha in to try and irritate him and break his rhythm. Boston gets hurt on the cross switch when Rondo has to defend Kobe in the post. If Kobe can get going early and put pressure on Rondo and/or Allen to defend him in the paint it alters the game completely in our favor. The Celtics did adjust sending Pierce for the hard double and Artest was left open. If the Celtics do this again then Artest or Odom needs to cut hard to the rim to draw Perkins or KG's attention away from whoever they are guarding. Artest can't settle for those long perimeter shots he's needs to move without the ball and get to the rim when Pierce leaves him.
