"The game had long been over on Thursday, but Houston pitcher Brett Myers was still upset about the double play that wasn't.

While speaking to reporter in the Astros locker room, Myers couldn't believe an inning-ending double play was actually overturned in the fifth inning. With Mike Aviles on second, Houston shortstop Geoff Blum trapped a soft liner that was called an out by the second base umpire.

Aviles advanced to third, and Blum tagged second for the double play.

The Royals protested the call and scored a partial reversal, as the umpires allowed Aviles to take third but ruled Betancourt out in an effort to correct the missed call. The ruling drew the ire of Houston, which had to come back and finish the inning.

"If they can overturn calls like that, I think they should overturn Galarraga's no-hitter," Myers said. "If that's what they are starting to do when an umpire makes a mistake, then we have to live with it.

"The homer (Podsednik) hit tonight - can they take that one back? It's one of those things where it's a judgment call. I don't know if I've ever seen something overturned like that in my career."

Houston manager Brad Mills was also upset the overturned the call on the field.

"There was just no precedent to reverse a call like that," Mills said. "I think it opens up a huge can of worms."

Blum came to the umpires' defense. "They eventually made the right call and that's what it's about," Blum said. "It's just unfortunate that we had to come out of the dugout.""
