I am not sure about Reasoner. Buff had a lot more points than this guy, but I dont know how he plays. Morin seems like a solid young player.

Hopefully Campbell is gone next. This was a piss poor decision on part of the Blackhawks to trade Buff for garbage like Reasoner.

Why do you want him gone so bad?

This is a pretty awesome trade for Chicago, IMO.

I like Byfuglien, but take away these playoffs and you really only have an inconsistent 3rd liner. I think playing alongside Toews and Kane also made him look immensely better. Not to diminish his skill/size, but Chicago may very well be selling at the best time with Buff (especially with him nearing a new contract). Sopel is 5th/6th defenseman, who's getting paid more than he probably deserves.

Reasoner is a filler, but the 'Hawks got 2 early round picks in a deep draft and they switched Aliu for a much more promising prospect. And most importantly, this (plus the news of the cap rising) really alleviates their cap issues. Coming into this offseason, I was sure that Chicago would have to deal either Sharp or Versteeg to stay under the cap. Right now it looks like they can demote Huet or let him sign in Europe and not have to let any more significant members of the team go.

Not sure what Atlanta was thinking with this deal, though.

I'm more or less siding with chutney on this. Yeah we lost Buff but he was only good in the playoffs. He started on defense and didn't even play wellthere. I will miss him but gettig a first and a second pick is solid... The Blackhawks can trade their two first round picks, If they want, and get a high draft pick. Another second round pick is also pretty solid. Sopel is an esay to replace. Look at our minor league teams. Solid D there. Eager will be missed.

Colin Frasher was traded to Edmonton for a sixth round pick. He would of been a RFA.

Looking more into the trade. A first round pick, second round pick, Marty Reasoner, Jeremy Morin and Joey Crabb are now in the Hawks possesion for four players. Great trade IMO. I will be a fan of all ex Hawk players who were part of the Stanley Cup Championship.

I like that Sopel has been moved and we all knew Eager would be moving on. As for Byfuglien, I'm not even bothered by the Hawks moving him, but I think they still could have made a better deal than that. The only thing I'm happy about in the deal is picking up a higher draft selection and picking up Jeremy Morin. As for Campbell, again, he's not worth his price. I'd say his price tag is off by about four million. The sooner he's gone the happier I'll be be.

As for dealing Colin Frasier, this move makes no sense to me. He likely wouldn't have asked for much and I don't think Madden will be returning. We will need a fourth line center if he doesn't and Fraser showed improvement during the end of the season. This also hurts Fraser's career as Edmonton are packed with fourth liners.
