This is about the worst case scenario -- it probably means like ligament-reconstruction or something crazy? Gawd. And Brandan Wright may never be able to play again. I mean, he looked decent for 2 games in the summer league, and then his shoulder was sore and they had to pull him out of the league. How will he ever be able to sustain a run in the nba. Maybe Gadzuric will be come Patrick Ewing?
I would trade Wright before he blows out that shoulder again, it's only a matter of time. If he can string together a few more games, get him out and try to get something back for him (like another trade exception or picks or whatever). I like the guy and he has some offensive moves, but the fact is this team doesn't need another scorer now. They need toughness, defense, and rebounding, all of which B. Wright has problems with. He's too soft even when he is healthy, and he's rarely healthy. He's got a $4.6M qualifying offer coming up next year and I'd rather not wait for that.
I tend to agree with you -- it's just that his stock is probably pretty low right now, even though he's still a prospect. If GS is worried, and the fans are worried, then other GMs are probably concerned about the shoulder too. I think everyone who has any interest in Brandan Wright right now are all really anxious to see what he does at the start of the season. I would say play him, hope that he performs well, and then trade him mid-season while he still looks good but before that shoulder pops out again... As much as I like his ceiling, there is no way to ever know if it will spontaneously pop out again. And there's really no way to prevent it, because it's ligaments. That's not a good feeling.
Yeah I don't think anyone will give us much for Wright at this point. If hes half as good as Nellie and co. make him out to be from last year's training camp and whatnot then keep him and see how he does. Keep in mind hes expiring- combine that with Vlad and Gad and thats $17 million in expiring contracts we can move at the deadline. That sucks for Udoh though. I wanna see what this guy can do.

Steinmetz is reporting he hurt his wrist lifting weights. http://www.csnbayarea.com/07/14/10/...Wrist-Weig/landing&blockID=271525&feedID=2799
Are there any legal provisions in place for drafting a guy with an undisclosed pre-existing injury? Like could they get some kind of concessions or something? Probably not, I imagine... I'm hearing now it will be the full 6 months. That's like January. Even then, he'll be stale, rusty, he won't see meaningful minutes till 2011-2012, most likely, although with Nellie that would've probably been the case anyway, lol. (that's a picture of Nellie smoking a cigar and smiling because he doesn't have to play a young big man AND he won' get blamed for it either).
