Tweet by WW: Hearing its Larry Ellison...Sal Galatioto of Galatioto Sports who are handling the sale was just called into a meeting a short while ago

TK Tweets: From the beginning, this was Ellison's auction to win. Repeatedly was told, no final sale will be done until LE has last call... (more), I don't know if it's done, or if Ellison is the guy, but he's the only bidder capable of ending this before mid-August, in my opinion. Everything else, I was told, was mostly "misdirection" until & unless Ellison bowed out. He hasn't bowed out, by all indications.

We learned a while back that Mastrov was one of the final two candidates to get the team, MTII now reporting that Ellison is the other finalist (shocker):

One awesome thing about this offseason; the Warriors' front office has more leakage than the Titanic. Seems like EVERYTHING is getting leaked before it happens. MTII has been killing it all offseason. Sadly I expect that to end once the ownership of the team is stable again and we'll get back into the Mullin days where we have no idea what's coming.

Great news. Now only thing to clean up is to have that Dunleavy rumour be false.

Is the rumor that Dun will come here as coach or GM?

I'd actually be OK with him coaching. I think he would have a good relationship with guys like Curry, Lee, and Udoh. Might clash with Monta though.

I wouldn't want Dunleavy Sr. coaching the team. He's too power hungry and will spend more time angling for the GM position than developing players. I saw how he operated with the Clippers until he finally hung himself with all the rope Sterling gave him.

I think the Warriors should bring in a proven winner and do what they can to get Jerry West on board.

No Dun Sr., please. Not for coach, not for GM, not for cotton candy vendor. Announcing that would really ruin what should be a great day in Warriors history.

Yeah, he had an awful lot of talent there with the Clips, IMO, and never managed to do squat. He had a total and-1 point guard in Baron, and he tried to make him Mark Jackson in the half-court. Way too rigid IMO.

Actually, speaking of Mark Jackson, I'd give him a shot...

Dunleavy Sr. is the worst idea I have heard; the guy is a proven loser time and time again. Sorry to say this, but if we're going to do that, might as well keep Riley and Nelson in place. But we know that's not happening.

Yikes, we are banding around whether to go Dunleavy Sr. or retain Riley/Nellie? NOOOOOOOOOOO! I cannot believe that those are the options that Ellison could even be discussing with the new team. Please, I'd take Calipari or Izzo over that. Kerr as coach?? At least it would be something new and vibrant.

I have more faith in Ellison's brilliance than that.
