I still don't get you dude. You don't like the Lakers because the way the fans feel/talk about Kobe?

Do you read/see how Bron's fans and the media ride his D? They actually believe he's the Messiah.

Its all good. Laker fans have enough bandwagoners as it is.... I respect whatever HK decides. If he aint a true Laker fan, I'd rather he move on to the next team.... I've already seen lots of dusted off HEAT jerseys on the streets... :)

HK why are you acting like a politician? Can you please just answer my questions straight-forward? I see you are into advanced stats and I remember reading an article that showed how adv. stats say there are more better clutch players than Bryant. If the stats say so do you believe that Bryant actually isn't the best clutch performer in the league?

HK is going to argue that Kobe is indeed NOT one of the best clutch performers in the league, and he's gonna say it so eloquently.

HK you really are lazy if you are going to bring up Lakers fans opinions of Kobe affect your outlook on a team. You aren't even a fan of the Heat. You are a fan of the new sabrmetrics being brought into basketball finally. I am sure you would be a Red Sox/A's fan also if you watch MLB. The one thing I am surprised at is that you bandwagoned the Heat over the Rockets. The Rockets and Daryl Morey have been the biggest proponents of the new advanced metrics entering basketball.

And it is bandwagoning if you choose to stop rooting for one team in favor of a team you believe has a higher chance of winning. Don't cloud yourself to the fact that it isn't bandwagoning because it certainly is.

I think this entire thread shows how I'm not lazy or brief in explaining myself.

This is not the team I came to root for, ideologically.
    I love these sabremetrics, true.
    Marlins. ;)
The Rockets certainly have my respect. As I said, respect does not mean I'm a fan.

Well I haven't bandwagoned onto anything so don't be surprised. I would have stuck with his decision if he went to a terrible team.

Again you're just a jealous Laker fan. You're only promoting this thought because he went to Miami, or in other words the team that can knock you out every season.

You're saying unless he picks a team you approve of, I'm a bandwagon fan.

It makes no difference to me that he had a "better" shot at winning a title or not, he's my favorite player.

And you're delusional, I chose the hard way 4-6 years ago, and I was prepared to do the same now. Pure luck helped me out, too bad for you guys.

    Cool, thanks.

As I said, I respect what LA accomplished they're a great franchise. I want to see the players I like succeed, so there's no room for anyone else. In addition I think the LA fanbase is more off in general, based on my views.

I still think it is fine to root against the Heat if you want, or to love LA or whatever.
Well I am a political science major... ;)

Why does Kobe have to be the best clutch player in the league? I don't understand why you are automatically assuming this. If the stats say he is a great player, that is what I believe. He doesn't have to be the best at anything.

Answer this and I'll try to give you a straight-forward answer.

This is pretty obvious that Kobe is the best clutch player in the league and no one comes close to him. It's hard to find people who argue against it, now if the advanced stats say it isn't so, do you start to also believe that maybe Kobe is NOT clutch and others are better than him at sealing the game?

    Really, based on?

Well Kobe needs to learn how to play well against good defenses and then I'll agree.

It's hard for me to understand your argument. "This person says so, so that means I'm right".

That's not an argument, provide me with evidence.

How clutch does Kobe have to be with Shaq (35 PPG-14 RPG in the Finals) on his team, and that game 7 chokejob? You're making it easier for me to dislike Kobe, because you're not being reasonable at all.

Well he's not even the second best player in the NBA. LeBron, then a healthy Chris Paul or Wade.

A healthy Chris Paul is better than a healthy Kobe Bryant? (No explanation needed. Just a yes or no.)

Has Kobe played well against good defenses, yes or no?

He made his money off the Suns, this isn't even a question.

Your answering my question with a question. I didnt say anything about Kobe playing well or poorly against the top defenses. I just asked if in your mind Chris Paul is better than Kobe Bryant.... Yes or No?

Hmm, hurt Chris Paul maybe not (although there's a case). 2008-2009 CP3? Yeah.

I think he'll bounce back this season.

Oh based on this past season, I'd say Chris was still better. Chris Paul was superior against good competition.

139.9 offensive rating, on 21.7% possessions (usage) against top 5 defenses.

Using the tradeoff I explained in the other thread, that would translate to easily a 120+ offensive rating at a Kobe usage rate.

Kobe in comparison was at a 104 rating in the playoffs, very inferior to Chris. He's older and was atrocious against the Thunder but you guys still won.

Well Kobe needs to stop choking against the Thunder and then I can start giving him credit. Or start shooting at the league average against good defenses.

What makes you so great about talking down Chris Paul, if you're not going to back it up? Oh I'm a Chris Paul fan now? And what are you going to say now to defend Kobe?

I'm waiting, I mean it is so obvious he didn't just feast on a bad defense. Tell me these grand things Kobe did last year to show Chris who's the real King. Clearly I'm a fool who needs to be enlightened, show me the way.
    Well enjoy running away.
