After watching Niemi pretty much shut down San Jose in the playoffs, I'm a bit curious why they didn't resign him. Is that near $3 million a lot for a goaltender?

3 mill is alot for a goalie that sucks....Plus Chicago just paid for a stanley cup, and are in Cap Room hell.

$2.7M would force the team to trade or release someone else. Niemi did really well when he played in the playoffs. He had the hot hand near the end, but when he did play he made a lot of mistakes that the defense saved him on. Turco reportly signed for $1M or $1.5M, and we all know how Turco plays.

Turco's GAA has been going up every year. I bet it will be north of three this year.

He hasn't been behind defenders like what the Hawks have. The Blackhawks defenders are a hell of a lot better than the Stars. Also I hate the mixed emotions when I ask about the Niemi/Turco situation...
