"With the losses piling up, the Kings are looking for answers. Tonight they'll go with a new starting five in hopes of finding some.

With the worst record in the NBA (5-22) and a seven- game losing streak, the Kings are going with their 11th differ- ent starting lineup this sea- son.

Coach Paul Westphal is going heavy on experience to try to get the Kings playing with more consistency. The new starters are guards Tyreke Evans and Beno Udrih, for- wards Carl Landry and Francisco García, and Samuel Dalembert at center.

García is the change from the lineup that started Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks. He replaces third-year pro Donté Greene at small for- ward. The other player who has started at small forward, Omri Casspi, is in his second season. This is García's sixth.

Evans is the only starter with less than three seasons of experience; he's in his second season. Dalembert, in his ninth season, replaced rookie DeMarcus Cousins at center against the Bucks. Cousins was benched for a taunting choking gesture late in Tues- day's loss to Golden State.

Landry is in his fourth season, Udrih his seventh.

The most experienced reserves are now forward Jason Thompson (third season) and guard Luther Head (sixth).

With speculation surrounding the job status of and basketball president Geoff Petrie making news after the last loss, Westphal is going with his steadiest play- ers to get through the "turmoil" caused by the reports.

"I think it's important for our players to be able to take a deep breath, step back and understand this is part of our growth," Westphal said. "At the same time I think that it's important to put our most experienced players out there and try developing our young players through a little bit more of the apprentice method than the sink-or- swim method.""
