Critiquing a GM is a very noisy process, and best suited to periods of more than one year. In a time span less than that, it's very hard to separate skill from luck.

@johnhollinger Note to Jerry Reinsdorf -- Even if you truly believe you're gonna win at least four rings, probably better to keep that thought to yourself.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offer that as any sort of official "everyone shut up" line. You know we're pretty much open for any topic here, I was just voicing my personal belief that it wasn't gonna go be very illuminating. :)

Statistically, 2 out of the last 10 were African American, so in a statistically valid way you can say they're over-represented (since they're only @12% of the national population). Of course, one less and they'd be slightly under represented. Meh... I dunno...

Lacy strikes again. Interesting stuff from Reinsdorf, though the writing from Banks to fill in the Thibs/Vinny hiring is especially absurd with the closing comment from Reinsdorf that you have to be blind not to see something special in Rose. They very easily could have waited a week and still interviewed and hired Thibs before the draft.

Agreed. I think it's only easy to say that two GMs are well above average, Donny Walsh and R.C. Bufford. The rest are more in the muck and have good and bad years.

Yes, he got it after the second time he made the playoffs...

There are a lot of stupid comments about this stupid incident and wondering if race played a factor makes it dumberer.

I'm still disappointed that Paxson didn't get punished in some way by the Bulls organization for this move. It's unacceptable behavior in the workplace.

It's not supposed to be a career award so I'm not really sure how this matters. I'm sure Baylor did get some "degree of difficulty" points for having Sterling as the owner, however.
