Hate to say it, but Kobe was atrocious tonight. Lakers should have put this game away in the 3rd quarter, but we allowed Miami back in the game and gave them confidence. Started with Kobe's stupid turnover and a Wade 18 footer resulting in a 4 point swing and a big turning point in this game. Lakers had a chance to be up by 10 points heading into the final period.

Two other crucial mental mistakes were by Steve Blake. He left Mike Bibby wide open to double team Juwan Howard. That is just bone head basketball and Bibby hit both those open looks.

Too much settling tonight from the outside instead of pounding it in the paint like we had been doing during the win streak. We also got killed on hustle points in the first half, which lead to offensive rebounds and second chance points for Miami.

The Heat had 6 more possessions than us tonight and that was the difference. Lakers offense went ice cold in the second half and we ended up only shooting 40% from the field.

yeah kobe could have put this away but he did choke. dissapointing.

id like to point out pau gasol is a **** face who cant play help defence. ron missing that shot under the rim was pretty bad, but big Z got to swat it out of the ring, that should have been called goaltend, and there is absolutely no denying that (so dont try HK). ron always goes on about how his defense is so good, that its better than some guys offense. im yet to see that this season, so ron ron, get you act together.

im fucking shattered that we lost today, as im sure a lot of other lakers fans are as well. but in the perspective of the whole season, this is just one loss. sure its hard to watch kids like lebron and dwade taking over as the nba's best, but this is the last time the'll see the lakers ( i think) they arent making it to the finals. lakers are probably going to be there waiting for the bulls or the celtics.

and, once more, id like to pre-emptively tell you HK, dont. just dont. nobody wants it. nobody likes a sore winner, in fact nobody likes you period. the thread you made in the heat forum is just you trying to provoke laker fans and its sad to see such childish behaviour here on S2. so stop.

They're not going to be there, period. Boston and Chicago and two better teams, there's a chance Miami can beat Chicago but Boston - never.

Shape I don't see you leading that Warriors bandwagon anymore. I barely remembered you were a fan.

This is why I respect Kobe. He knew he f'ed it up last night and stayed after the game to work on his jump shot.

    Late night workout

Huevue I grew up in San Francisco (now I live in the OC) and had season tickets to the Warriors. I've had Chris Mullin over for dinner when he played for them and served his ass on the tennis courts when he used to visit the San Francisco Tennis Club with his buddy Brad Gilbert. I used to play two on two against Mario Elie and Vincent Askew at Sunset gym weekly. I played in private rec leagues with ex-Warriors and local players like Hook Mitchell who tried making their team.

I have a family member who works in their organization. I do want to see them have success (except when they play the Lakers of course.) Not sure where you got the notion I was a band wagon fan of the Warriors. LOL.

I blame the loss more on missed layups and giving up 18 offensive boards. Paulina showed up last night.

Bynum only had 1 rebound in the first half.

But he had 11 in the 2nd half. Bynum was the reason for LeBron and Wade missing a few layups, as well. He can't do everything out there defensively, Shape. Paussy really needs to step up his defensive games. That is twice this year he has been torched by Bosh Spice--its pathetic.

Pau only had 5 boards in 40 minutes of play. Fucking Mike Miller grabbed 3 offensive rebounds over him, I believe. Miller had 7 rebounds, total

I pointed it out because Bynum has been a beast during the win streak, but didn't have an impact in the 1st half. Imagine if he played the 1st half with the same energy he played in the 2nd half, we probably roll the Heat.

I agree with you on Gasol he played soft, and I also didn't like the production of Odom last night either. He had Juwan Howard trying to defend him and only took advantage of him once taking him off the dribble.

One thing PJax is brilliant at is making adjustments and exploiting a teams weakness in the playoffs.

We don't gotta worry about Miami, though...at least not this year. They aren't getting by Chicago or Boston.

Anything is possible in the post season, but I would put Boston & Chicago ahead of Miami at this point. Whoever finishes with the 3rd seed is going to face the Knicks and that could be a first round upset. Madison Garden is going to be electric and they have two players capable of monster nights.

If the Heat don't win it this year with their Big 3 they might not get another opportunity together. Once the new CBA expires and the owners lock the players out we could see teams forced to move guys to avoid penalties. A lot of the owners want a hard cap and non-guaranteed contracts. One of the reasons you saw some teams overspend this past offseason was they knew they could void those contracts after this season with once the new CBA is signed.

Shape I can play that game too. Oh I used to love the Lakers, Kobe was my favorite player remember?

You just don't care anymore as far as I can see, you only care about winning teams. Bandwagon fan, it is ok most Laker people are like that. Otherwise they would also be clipper fans, or whatever. It isn't just about geography.
