"The Cardinals had wound up spring training with just one losing record in the previous 10 seasons. But Mitchell Boggs gave up three runs in the eighth inning today and the Cardinals dropped a 4-2 verdict to the Florida Marlins.

That lowered the Cardinals' final spring record to 14-16-1.

Jaime Garcia, who had been knocked around all spring, worked six brilliant innings for the Cardinals, giving up just three hits and one run. He fanned seven, many with his curveball and changeup.

Colby Rasmus hit his third homer of the spring for the Cardinals' first run in the first inning. In the top of the eighth, minor leaguer Matt Adams doubled and minor leaguer Daryl Jones, pinch running for Adams, eventually scored the go-ahead run on minor leaguer Tyler Henley's sacrifice fly."
