If Rose wins MVP, which I think is the general consensus, will he be the first player to win MVP who isnt in the top Five in PPG, RPG, APG, SPG and BPG? im just curious if there has been any other MVP's that have been out of the top 5 in these categories...
yes denny, i know that. you didnt answer my question though. has there been any other MVP's that have been out of the top 5 in these categories: PPG, RPG, APG, SPG and BPG. thanks.
Rose is the only guy in the top 10 in both assists and scoring. He's one of three players to score 2000 points and get 600 assists in a season. The other two are Jordan and LeBron. NOKOBE
thanks shape and trueblue. thats interesting about dirk, i can remember a lot of people being upset that he won it that year. denny, i dont know what your problem is dude, i was just curious, i dont doubt for one minute that rose is the most deserving of mvp this season. i know he is one of three players to score 2000 points and get 600 assists in one season, that was not my question was it. and the NOKOBE thing, what is that? im a laker fan, not a kobe bandwagoner, i never bought kobe into this conversation. i was just after the answer to a simple question, not a lecture from some guy looking for an argument.
Sorry, I meant no disrespect. I thought I gave a pretty good answer - that his season was a rare one that not even Kobe matched.
thats cool dude, I think we are starting to see a group of younger players taking over the league from veterens like kobe, though i still see the lakers pulling through this first series and continue to be favourites for the chip. thats all on the line though with pau's play and kobes recent injury. if lakers arent there then boston will take the whole thing. rose had such a great season but he's shown a few signs of his inexperience in the first round, even if he is still killing it, its only the pacers he's going up against. His real test will be against boston and/or miami.
The Pacers are two deep at every position with not much drop off from 1st team to 2nd team. This gives them more fresh legs to throw at Rose, in terms of double team and traps. They also just match up ideally against the Bulls, with Collison being a small speedy PG to make Rose work on defense, Hansbrough is the same physical size/weight as Boozer, Granger is probably better than Deng, Noah struggles against tall and strong centers like Hibbert. I don't see teams like Boston and Miami matching up as well. Those teams will have to play their starters a lot of minutes, so they're not going to expend all their energy early trapping Rose.
