The quarterback is the glamour position. A high profile signal caller who can led a team to glory or down the drains. Having a good quarterback is the key to success in these years of the NFL. So today i'll be ranking the 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL. For the purpose of this article if a team is on the fence about a quarterback then I fill the shoes of the front office and make a decision. Also I'm not judging a quarterback by their body of work in the NFL I'm judging them by how good a quarterback they will be this 2011-2012 season. There is only one quarterback per team so these are not the best quarterbacks in the NFL but the best STARTING ones. There are lots of good quarterbacks (Kevin Kolb, Vince Young, Jon Kitna, Carson Palmer) that are not on this list because they do not start. Without further adieu I present to you the 2011 NFL starting quarterbacks!

    14. Josh Freeman (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)- Freeman is quickly making a name for himself around the league. He is a leader who has a huge arm and can make very impressive throws with great accuracy. In 2011 the strong Freeman will continue to excel with receivers like Mike Williams.
    13. Jay Cutler (Chicago Bears)- Unlucky number 13...fortunately for Cutler 2011 will be lucky. Last year he lead the Bears to the playoffs and played well throughout the season. He has able targets in Earl Bennett and Johnny Knox and he will see success in 2011. He is a great quarterback on the verge of becoming an elite one but quitting issues still follow Cutler.
    12. Eli Manning (New York Giants)- Manning is a great quarterback but his interceptions will hold him back. That being said everything else about Manning is fine. He is the unquestioned leader of the Giants and can drive the ball up the field making crucial throws. With receivers like Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, and tight end Kevin Boss things could go well for Eli in the big apple.
    11. Tony Romo- While Romo went down with an injury last year Jon Kitna held the reins well but coming into 2011 Tony Romo is the Cowboy's starter and the one to lead them to the playoffs. And to do that task Romo has help from Pro Bowl wide receivers Miles Austin, Roy Williams, Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Witten as well as a solid running game and offensive line. While Romo is not yet elite he could be.
10.Matt Schaub (Houston Texans)- Schaub is a good quarterback and with receivers like Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels he is only going to go up. Schaub is a great pocket passer but he can not run. That will be all right in Texas thanks to a solid backfield. He can led the Texans into the playoffs and deep into the playoffs but until he does that he will never be an elite field general.
    9. Joe Flacco (Baltimore Ravens)- Flacco has taken the NFL by storm and is not looking back. He is a great quarterback with a great arm and the football gods blessed him with receivers Anquan Boldin, T.J Houshmandzadeh and Derrick Mason. He led Baltimore to three-straight playoff appearances in three years and 2011 will be his break-out year.
    8. Michael Vick (Philadelphia Eagles)- It is clear that Vick is the starter in Philly and the rest of the NFL better watch out. Vick can beat you with his legs but also his newly found arm strength! He has a great arm and accuracy in getting the ball to wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Vick can also run which opens up his passing game. He is a great passer and after coming out of a dark tunnel Vick has a very bright future ahead of him.
    7. Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints)- The reason Brees fell to number 7 is because of a subpar 2010. He was plagued with 22 interceptions, arm problems and accuracy problems. He is a leader though and I predict a 2011 where he regains top form. He was once an elite quarterback and with a good 2011 he could regain his spot at the top.
    6. Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcondieffinitlys)- Ryan has proven he is an elite quarterback in 2010. But the chance to become a top 5 quarterback is his task for 2011.In 2010 he led the Falcons to the top record and number 1 spot in the NFC. But he underwhelmed in the playoffs. He has a strong work ethic and great leadership skills and with targets like Roddy White and draft pick Julio Jones 2011 could be a great year for Ryan and the Falcons.
    5. Phillip Rivers (San Diego Chargers)- Rivers is a great quarterback with a not so great team. He is an elite quarterback with a great arm, great form, accuracy and a leader. He had a 105.5, 104.4 and 101.8 quarterback ratings over the last three years respectively. He has been fantastic and if he had targets like the players higher than him have, he would have definitely been higher than he is now.
    4. Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers)- Roethlisberger is a winner even if he could not get it done his past February. Every year Roethlisberger is elite and 2011 will be no different. Big Ben will put up MVP-caliber numbers in 2011 as he has a strong arm and strong receivers such as the speedy Mike Wallace. He can keep the play alive with his movement in and out of the pocket. He is on a talented team and a return to the Super Bowl doesn't seem too far fetched for Roethlisberger and the Steelers.
    3. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers)- He had a fabulous 2010. He led his team to win the Super Bowl and became Super Bowl MVP. All of this with an injury rattled team. He was perfect throughout the playoffs and he is hot in the NFL. That is why he is number 3. But 2011 should be a pretty good year for Rodgers. He has supreme targets in Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson and James Jones. Expect great thinks from Rodgers and the Packers in Lambeau.
    2. Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts)- We could argue until the cows come home about who is better: Manning or Tom Brady. I was seriously considering a tie but I hate ties so I picked a winner. Believe me Manning is a great player and I have the utmost respect for him and if this was a list of Manning's whole career I may have picked him. But it isn't. It is a list of the best quarterback in 2011. And Manning is getter older and worse. He is still elite but his game is slipping. 2010 was the first time in Peyton Manning's entire career that he was not ranked in the top eight quarterbacks when it comes to QB rating. The Colt's didn't get out of the first round of the playoffs. And Manning doesn't have good targets anymore. That being said Manning makes a bad supporting cast look decent. He has a strong arm. He is a born leader. He is the king of audibles. He is a student of football. His throws are accurate and consistent. He was born to be an NFL star and will die an NFL legend.
    1. :crazy:Tom Brady (New England Patriots)- The best quarterback in the NFL right now is Tom Brady. Yes, you may say I have bias for Terrific Tom and you would be right but don't ask me. Ask the selection committee that unanimously chose him as 2010 NFL MVP. He had a fantastic 2010 season and is back for more. He sees the field and well and understands the game better than almost every quarterback out there. He is a complete player and throws the ball better than anybody. He is a proven winner. He is a future Hall of Famer. In 2010 he threw for 36 touchdowns and a 110 QB rating. Those numbers would have been career highs if it was not for that amazing 2007 season. This proves that while Manning is going to slow down in 2011, Brady is just getting started!

u have a point but i feel that romo will have a better 2011, he had time to heel from his injury and he has better receivers than the giants not to mention a good o-line

But this is QB's, not WR or Oline. If that was the case, Stafford would be #1.

are we talking about all these players when fully healthy? Cause Stafford should be ahead of most of these guys on this list if thats the case. And I fail to see how McCoy is this low over Newton who's a project.

Garrard, Fitzpatrick and (especially) McNabb should also be lower.

You hit the top 5 on the head though.

no just how they will be in 2011 so not fully healthy and that is why i put stafford where i did and yes newton is a project but until the first week of the season i have faith in him, this list will change if rookies perform or don't perform but for now newton wasnt the first draft pick for nothing
