Biyombo measured out at 6'8.31 without shoes, 6'9.5 with shoes, 9'3.5 standing reach. 245 lbs with 4.1% body fat. That standing reach is up there with guys like Greg Oden and if his age is really 18 then that is an insane weight/body fat.

Reports are that Jerry West really likes Klay Thompson. Wonder if its a smokescreen. Givony also says Warriors are one of a number of teams who like Biyombo.

DX and nbadraft.net both have Jimmer going all the way up at #7 to the Kings. I've always wondered what the market is like for that guy and if we could draft him and use him to trade down.

I like how you nonchalantly added Kevin Love. Why would Minnesota trade Kevin Love, let alone the #2 pick, for Monta?

    Workout notes ...

Jerry West is a fan of Klay Thompson and would likely select him if he's still on the board. But if he and Marcus Morris are off the board, the Warriors could be the team that takes a chance on Biyombo. The team desperately needs to improve its defense, shot-blocking and rebounding. Biyombo has the tools to do that right away.

If we move up to 2, 3 or #4, Kanter would be intriguing. He looks like he impressed in TWolves workout. He's definitely a 5 and he's still growing.

Why Minny would do it? Love and Rambis haven't gotten along. It could be another rough year if they blow up during the season. With Monta, they fill a need at 2 and fix the lack of scoring in the backcourt. With Rubio coming in, they want some experience there. It would allow AR to move up and play PF.

DX has the Warriors taking Biyombo, but he had a poor workout.

I agree Donatas and Burks are my picks. I would prefer Burks at the moment because unlike Donatas, his desire and work ethic aren't in question. Donatas could be a bust simply because his motor is weak and that is why he doesn't rebound or play team defense well.

If you're to believe the media its a two horse race between Klay Thompson and Bismack Biyombo.

I kind of hope they're both still available so we can see if the W's new FO were smokescreening or leaking like a canoe.

Yeah though Donatas' work ethic is a concern. Seems like some people have indicated that without that red flag he would be a top 7 pick.

But you don't get that good if you never work on your game or you're lazy right? Anyway seems like his motor is crappy and its a big reason why hes such a bad rebounder. Apparently hes bulked up quite a bit lately though. I like his game but I am a bit scared off by the work ethic/motor issues.

If anybody out of the top 10 falls we have to take a look at them. Some of these European players look really good. The most athletic of them (and perhaps in the entire draft) is a hybrid SF/PF from the Czech Republic.

For the guys in below the top 10, my picks are (in this order:)

1.) Alec Burks (reason: most balanced, talented, bright two guards with star potential at only age 19)
2.) Donatas something something hard to pronounce last name (can't teach quickness at that size and very few at 7 feet have his offensive talent)
3.) Klay Thompson (nba pedigree, very nice skillset, looks very useful although he'll probably end up floating between 2 and the 3 due to lack of quickness. It seems he could be like having another Steph Curry. A guy who is ready to play now and may surprise his detractors)
4.) Chris Singleton (athletic, strong, hard working and could be lock down defender against an opposing team's star. His presence on the floor (especially on isolations) could move us in the direction away from being the league's red carpet to the hoop)
5.) Marshon Brooks - Best scoring natural two guard behind Alec Burks (IMO). He looks damn polished as an offensive scoring threat and has very good standing reach and athleticism. Although his numbers could be inflated, this guy looks like a real deal nba shooting guard (IMO).

Actually, I like Marshon Brooks better than Klay Thompson and Chris Singleton

Larry Riley seems like the canoe :sigh:.

Biyombo looks really raw and his failure at his workout has forced him to do more individual workouts. I rather get a guy who has "lightened" his load.

Fredette says he's doing five workouts down from ten or so; He's turned down working out for the Bucks. He must have a promise somewhere.

I'm looking at Klay Thompson again because of West and the fact he beat Jimmer in workouts. Fredette may go higher than Thompson though. Thompson is saying the right things. If he's good, then he should be lightening his load.

Just curious. This is getting to be a huge topic. Who would you take at #1? Kyrie Irving? Derrick Williams? Other?

I would go with Derrick Williams.

I like Derrick Williams but have a hard time seeing him being much more than an Antawn Jamison/Lamar Odom kind of guy. Nice player but not what you want in a #1 pick. Not a lot of defense.

Irving apparently isn't an elite PG prospect like Wall and Rose before him but they say hes pretty good. I haven't seen much of him so its hard to say. Is he a league average starting PG? Above average? He barely played at Duke and even when he did he wasn't really running the show when I saw them play.

    From DX:
Interesting because the past few days Jonas Valancuinas has been really dropping because of his buyout issues. He thought he could work it out with the team but the conclusion has basically been his team telling him to suck it and play out his deal. Like mentioned in tweets above, many of the really crappy teams need help NOW and won't want to wait for him. The guy has never impressed me but all the scouting reports say hes got insane work ethic and shows skills that should develop. Hes got a Tim Duncan type of body. Even though I'm not a fan I'd take him at 11 just based on the value of that pick and assuming that all these draft experts aren't totally wrong on him. His production in Europe is insane too.

Jonas and Kemba Walker seem like the two most likely to fall. Would you guys take Kemba if hes there? I reckon he's gotta be the BPA and he's gotta have some value to another club.

Worst case scenario IMO (which usually happens to us aside from the Curry draft) would be if Kyrie, Kanter, Knight, Jonas, D. Williams, Vesely, Leonard, Kemba, Klay, and Biyombo go top 10. That leaves Fredette, Marcus Morris, Burks, Tristan Thompson, Singleton, etc. Not bad but not great either. I'm a Singleton fan but he doesn't seem like a great value at 11 and I sort of get the sense that hes not really in the running.
