On October 22 history will be made when the first ever female Irish title fight takes place in Dundalk, Ireland. On the home coming bill headlined by Irish lightweight Michael Kelly, Christina McMahon (3-0-0) 2ko’s), will trade punches with Maxine McCarthy (5-0-0). Women’s boxing has been on the rise in Ireland recently as young women look to get involved in the sport following the rise to prominence and success of Bray’s Katie Taylor, who hopes to be the first to win gold at the Olympics in women’s boxing.
