CORVALLIS -- Oregon State coach Mike Riley said two potential starters at defensive tackle are still facing issues that could keep them from playing.

Dominic Glover practiced Monday, but Riley said Glover has some academic problems to clean up.

“His situation is ongoing,’’ said Riley. “We won’t know his final situation until the end of this week or maybe early next week.’’

Castro Masaniai, jailed in May on several charges after getting into a fight with his girlfriend at a Downtown Corvallis McDonalds, faces a court appearance Thursday.

While Masaniai was not at practice, he was listed No. 1 at left tackle on the depth chart handed out Monday, while Glover was No. 4.

(As a Duck fan, I I hope these young student/athletes are able to resolve their issues and/or are given a second chance to prove themselves.)

How do you get in a fight with your girl at that mcdonalds? The downtown one sucks, and the only thing I can think of is they were leaving the downtown club/bars and were wasted.

Two sides to every story....kidnapping, disorderly and criminal mischief charges.

An Oregon State University football player was arraigned Monday, May 16, at Benton County Courthouse on charges of second-degree kidnapping, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Castro Masaniai did not enter a plea at this time.According to an affidavit of probable cause, Masaniai, 21, a defensive tackle of the OSU football team, was arrested around 4 p.m. Saturday at the McDonald's parking lot on Northwest Third Street.

According to the affidavit, an argument began after Masaniai's girlfriend would not allow the defensive tackle to throw a container of soda at a vehicle that had cut him off.

The couple arrived at McDonald's, where Masaniai's girlfriend went into the restaurant and told Masaniai to "go home."

Masaniai then allegedly walked into the restaurant and began yelling at his girlfriend, attempting to force her to get back into the vehicle. According to the affidavit, Masaniai's girlfriend fell to the ground as he grabbed her by the arm trying to drag her back to the car.

When she refused, Masaniai began allegedly hitting and denting the vehicle with his fists, while the couple's 2-year-old child was still in the vehicle.

There were several witnesses to this incident, one of which called 911 to report the violent behavior.

Masaniai has now reportedly been cut from the football team.

Apparently Castro is guilty of violence against motor vehicles.

Apparently you don't understand ORS domestic violence statutes and what happens when minors are present.

Plea deal for reduced sentence, huh?
