Beaver sentenced, will miss one game

    Let me get this straight...correct me where I'm wrong: Castro is charged with kidnapping, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and sentenced to 180 days in jail. He's suspended from the team...however, prior to completing counseling or serving his sentence, he's reinstated to the team and punished by sitting one game?

    Didn't Blount sit nearly the entire season for punching an opponent and attempting to fight fans...earned a spot back on the team and was only granted a limited role after counseling and proving himself to his coach, team and fans?

    LaMichael James is found guilty of misdemeanor harassment, receives 10 days in jail, is suspended for one game and required to complete counseling.
    Cliff Harris receives numerous traffic violations and is suspended for one game and required to pay all outstanding fines.
    Masoli trespasses, steals and is kicked off the team - forever.
    Alonso is suspended for all of 2010 due to DUI and a second alcohol related incident.

    Castro kidnaps, physically put his hands on his girlfriend, threatens and punches/attacks the car his young child is in - gets some serious time in jail, and sits a game.

    Now I see why Beav fans are so fast to accuse Oregon and Kelly of some minor recruiting violations.... Sheesh....

    Jesus, now I know why you wanted us to have our own forum. So you could FLAME US! He was convicted of misdemeanor attempted coercion. Nothing more. He shouldn't have been convicted of anything. It was just a spat between his girlfriend and him and of course since he's so big somebody called it in to the police. Castro is going to kick your ass when we go to Eugene.

    I'm genuinely not flaming your program. As I've said before, my roots in Corvallis probably go deeper and back further than most fans.

    The issue here is fan's perspective and how easy it is to judge from the outside. Oregon and Kelly have NOT been lenient on players and players who don't live up the standards of the team have seen season long suspensions. You have a player who did some very bad things, took a plea-deal to reduce his sentence and still received 180 days, then got right back on the team.

    You say he shouldn't have been convicted of anything. Were you there? Do you know Oregon Revised Statute regarding domestic violence committed in front of minors? Do you have any education or experience when plea-deals (exactly like the one Castro used) are used?

    At least Oregon fans can admit there are some minor issues with Oregon recruiting, and most of us welcome minor sanctions. You seem blinded.

    Hey, what was the outcome of the suspensions when the four Oregon State football players approached the solider who was leaving for Iraq and his wife while they were dancing (Vet was white, wife was black and players were black) and the players assaulted the husband?

    Hey Tlong, do you know anyone who attends practice, or do you at least read notes from practice? Sounds like Castro was once #1 and while MR was quoted recently as saying the Beavs seriously need Castro due to a thin DT roster, reports say he is so fat and out of shape he can't even run! I'm not making this stuff up.
    Go checkout any blogger with practice notes, or see quotes from his mates: LOL!!!!

    Ahh Duck fans, always accusing the Beavers and their fans of having a little brother syndrome yet always the first to bring up any Beaver issues. Ever. At all. Even former Beavers in the NFL.

    It must be fun being the Laker fans of college football.

    You may want to re-read some of the history and accusations, here. Duck fans are taking an opportunity to show that those who have been casting stones for the past few months also live in a glass house.

    Not sure your college alliance. I've been attending both UO or OSU games since the early 80's. It's possibly I've attended more Beav home and bowl games (supporting them) than most posters/fans here. I've noticed one glaring difference in the two programs - besides on the field success.

    When a Beav victory is announced at Autzen, the fans clap and cheer.
    When a Duck victory is announced at Reser, the fans boo and curse.
    When a Beav loss is announced at Autzen, the fans are mostly silent.
    When a Duck loss is announced at Reser, the fans cheer and celebrate.

    Your empty accusations fall flat.

    lol come on man. I get the most shit from Oregon fans. ANNNYYYY Oregon fan finds out I'm a Beaver fan and they freak out (or give me shit). Not to mention when Oregon fans would come to Reser, I can't tell you how many of them acted confrontational towards my friends and I.

    It goes both ways, don't act like it doesn't.

    it is a two way street. Some people take it too seriously (I admit I have at times too). It's all fun and games to talk shit to your state rival. No big deal. We can all at least bond for the Blazers :cheers:

    Most of my friends went to OSU and I don't give a shit about Beavers sports.... I went to a Beavers game against USC last season for a buddies bachelor party.... cheered for the Beavs, so I don't think it's really that bad.
