Hughes was looking forward to fighting Sanchez because he is also Christian.

I think this is a rough fight for Hughes, a lot rougher than his fight against Sanchez was going to be. He won't be able to out wrestle Koscheck, and I would believe Koscheck has the edge on his feet, especially if he can land that right hand on him. I just think Koscheck may just be too much for Matt.

I agree with you guys, it is a terrible match-up for Hughes, who is a step too slow to implement his game plan against Koscheck.

GSP had trouble taking/keeping Kos down in their fight, what chance does Hughes have?

Sanchez was at least a slightly smaller welterweight (that being said, Kos has toyed with dropping to LW before).

Re: UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage (Sep. 24th)

Koscheck asked to fight Wanderlei Silva, Rich Franklin (at MW), and Chris Leben. He didn't want to take a fight at welterweight because the fighters available weren't ranked.

Do you think Koscheck is looking past Hughes?

As much of a cocky asshole as he is I think hes too smart to overlook Hughes. Hes confident but what hes saying is true. Its only motivating Hughes though...

Diaz vs. Gomi is such an interesting fight. Really looking forward to that one.

You'd think that a loss for Gomi here would put him on the chopping block but with UFC Japan coming up it seems he'll survive either way.

Re: UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage (Sep. 24th)

It seems the oddsmakers have Rampage as the heavy underdog in this fight at +400 to Bones -550 according to Vegasinsider. I see no reason not to put a wager on Rampage with those kind of odds, as I see Rampage having more than just a punchers chance. I think his take down defense is some of the best in MMA, and may prove a pivotal part of this fight. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jones win, the man is a beast, but I'm taking Rampage in the upset!

I hope Rampage wins this. Jones' ego needs to be checked.

Re: UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage (Sep. 24th)

Fighters are on weight for tomorrow.

Jones looked Rampage in the eyes, a departure from his normal stare-down technique where he looks past his opponent.

Rampage has up to the end of ROUND 1 to KO Jones. If not, I dont think he stands a chance... Jones is just too good, too strong, too long..
