Detroit Red Wings owner Mike Illitch reiterated his belief Monday night that his club will likely be taken care of in the NHL's realignment for next season.

"There has to be," Snider said before the HHOF induction gala. "But I think our traditional rivals will always be with us no matter how it's realigned. You can be confident in that."

Don't you think thats a dumb statement? Since its spliting up the traditional Wings/Hawks rivalry? Even though its weak right now.

Would you be willing to split up the Chicago Detroit rivalry, to start new ones with Montreal, toronto, Rangers and the Boston Bruins? um, yea. No more playoff games that start at 10. No more playing with the goons in Arizona, Anaheim or Denver.
