Great, great fight to introduce the world to five-round non-title bouts. I'm sure we'll be hearing about/pining for a rematch before long. The show was a very entertaining one in general. The finishes were great, the fights that went the distance were stellar, and the legends lived up to their names. I thought the Wandy stoppage was pretty early until I saw that Cung Le's face was smashed in. Dunno if he would've been able to survive another round.
For the record I also had it rounds 1-3 for Hendo and 4-5 for Shogun and would've had it 47-46 with a 10-8 round apiece. PRIDE rules? Shogun wins.
Urijah Faber and Dan Henderson both likely to get title shots. Some uncertainty whether Hendo will want to face Silva (after Sonnen) or Jones (after Machida). Rashad Evans apparently missing out yet again possibly. Crazy.
I don't see a rematch in order. If it was a 3 round fight, Dan wins that 30-26. I didn't know Shogun's chin was that fucking solid. Dan landed shots that KO'd Feijao, Fedor, Bisping, etc...impressive display of heart by Shogun. Rumor is Dan's hand is busted, he went to the hospital after the fight. I wonder if he'll get Rashad, or the winner of Machida/Jones. I think Shogun/Rampage makes perfect sense now to headline the UFC on Fox 2 card. I don't think Shogun deserves a rematch...I might have my homerism goggles on, but I feel the winner was pretty clear cut.
I'm pretty sure that Dana still confirmed that Rashad is next in line during the PC. He said its up to Dan on who he wants to wait for, but he definitely deserves a shot at either title.
Hendo posted on his facebook that he's fine...just went to the hospital for dehydration and a sprained thumb. No broken hand.
