Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (Dec. 10th) Jones was booed at the weigh-ins. Machida also, but to a lesser extent. The fans in Toronto have traditionally gone against the grain (talking about both WWF and MMA) so this one should tilt towards Machida, unless Jones looks spectacular, which he could.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) Hasn't been a good night for the Canadian fighters but still, some nice fights so far. Cheeto Orcheese might be finished in the Octagon. He has one win in his last eight fights (five years) and who do you put him up against at this point?
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) wow, Mir's just did that.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) That was nasty. Nog was down for a while--definitely broke something to make him tap.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) I can't believe Mir while stunned, out performed Nogueira on the ground, simply amazing. I'm wondering if Big Nog comes up with another excuse for why he lost, like got too cocky or something. Was 100% surprised to see Hominick charge Sung Jung like a crazed lunatic. Hominick has always been an aggressive and fun fighter to watch, but never been one to let that get in the way of technique or skill.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) Machida didn't look the same after Jones landed that hellbow from the top. He looked like he was in the fifth round. That choke was sick.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) respect a legend. these guys have to sell themselves, its part of the business. jones vs machida was a great fight. jones does not like engaging at at all.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) Jon Jones is a bad man. Machida had that 1st round, but Jones looked tentative. I thought once Jones settled down he would dominate--and he did. Holy fuck, there is nobody @ 205 who can contend with him right now. Tito, one more fight...after that, hang it up. Big Nog, hang it up. I can't believe he stopped punching at went for the sub. He deserved to lose that. Another arm for Frank Mir's trophy case.

Pretty much confirms that Jon Jones has to be fighter of the year at this point. 4-0, top competition, devastating finishes. Easily now top-3 P4P ahead of Jose Aldo.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) Frank Mir's win was spectacular. He was on ice skates from strikes and not only managed to recover on the ground but completely twist up and reverse Big Nog, breaking his (shoulder) and completing a truly memorable comeback. Oddly, Nog looked a lot better in this fight than he did against Schaub, who was picking away at him until the final sequence that lead to the knockout. Nog was doing so well on the feet you have to wonder why he dove for that submission--perhaps to prove a point--or perhaps because Mir couldn't stand and he didn't want to hang out in his guard throwing ground and pound, giving Mir a chance to recover.
Damn, really wanted a Machida win there, he was doing great up until the takedown. Jones most impressive win to date in my opinion.
Re: UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida (live now on Facebook, live on Ion at 7, ppv at 9) Pretty great night of fights outside of a couple of lackluster decision wins for Brian Ebersole and Mark Bocek. Hard to explain how Mark Hominick lost by 6-second knockout. That was ludicrous. He is so much better than that. But I guess that's why we love the sport--anything can happen and the contest can be over in a flash. Good for KZ who can build off this win. Jon Jones, man--he is a scary dude. He could've just taken Machida down from the start but decided to test his striking with him. Mixed results. Jones isn't a perfect fighter but his strengths are just dominant. He's making great fighters (much better than the typical fighter Anderson Silva faces) look like shit.
