He would be nice on the Blazers but i'd much rather have a real center like Gortat next to LMA so LMA doesn't have to play out of position and have to make up for loves defensive woes on the other end of the court.

Jealousy does play a part in some peoples hatred, but it's not the reason some people hate him (I personally don't. I think LaMarcus should've made the AST last year, but I don't care anymore). In fact, this year I'm really liking what Kevin Love is doing. He's putting up great #'s on a decent team.

Sometimes people hate someone because they're mad at how their team is playing or a player on their team is playing. Or that player/person is a dumbass. And sometimes it could be that they were personally disrespected by him.

I don't think people here truly HATE him, as much as they don't like him as a player, or feel the amount of publicity that a player gets isn't always on par with their ability. I've never met any NBA player in my life, I have no personal reason to hate any of them. I dislike certain players, but it has nothing to do with jealousy. It has a lot to do with how the NBA forces certain players in our faces and tells us how we're supposed to be impressed by them for their dunking ability, or their freakish jumping ability, etc.

I think it's what magnifier661 and others have said. It's because a player isn't wearing the "Portland" uniform. Nothing more, nothing less. Outside of those who have had personal interactions with him (or another player), it's not that complicated. Sure, jealousy has something to do with it, but I think the top reason is team loyalty. Maybe misguided loyalty, but loyalty none the less.

Kevin Love is a very good player and has been for some time. At the age of 23 years old (only about three months older than Batum) he should continue to improve and has a chance at a HoF career.

Love drilled a game winning three in the hearts of all his haters last night.

How can you hate Lake O? The lake is beautiful and it's a great place to be around.

Yep. The kid works hard and would love to have him. He is with the Twolves so I am not rooting for him.

I love that kind of response.

I'm sorry my dad worked harder than your dad...hehe, yeah, that's the only reason.

Some of the richest people are some of the luckiest and laziest. I could work super hard and I'll never be a doctor or a lawyer or a CEO of a fortune 500 company. damn if my daddy hadn't worked harder, than I would've been set!

One of my favorite sayings my grandfather had was "I had a trust fund growing up. My parents trusted that I would not be a dipshit and would fund my own way through college."

LMAO! That's an awesome saying! So you think less of me that my father worked hard to give me a good life now? Not saying it was given to me; but it was much easier than many of my other friends I know. But I will and give much respect for those people that work in any field hard. So what if they are a plumber?!?! So what if they are a Doctor?!?!?! Its all relative.

But kinda off topic I guess. I hate Love because he isn't a Blazer. That is it for me. I had my doubts before, and I still can't agree he is as good as Dirk, just because they shoot the same 3 point FG%. I want to see him lead his ball club to a winning record. Maybe even a few playoff victories. I think those intangibles need to be taken into consideration. Can he do it? Probably. Has he done it? No...

Nope. I can't think any less of you as it is....hehe

Seriously though, nope. I dislike smug ass clowns who think their upbringing makes them better than others. And so far you don't seem to think that.

sorry if it wasn't clear, that was my grand point. People are who they are, why place value on it.

I don't dislike Lake Oswego. God bless people if they can help their kids get a foot in the door, or whatever. I think people have a problem with people who ahve a sense of entitlement. Rich or poor.

I wonder about those numbers. He strikes me as a numbers hound on a bad team. I'd like to see how his numbers would be playing on a decent team where he wasn't the main go to guy and could just shoot as will all game long.

I think sayings like that paint too broad of a stroke. I think paying for a kids college makes sense for some families and does not for others. My son is in a pay school and I love the trustfund kids along with everyone else. Higher attendance means lower tuition costs.

I got what you're saying, and I agree. I think more people should go to college. If I had a chance to pay for my kids education, I would.
