I vote Nate. He has been the one item, other than Oden that receives a very long leash. Why not fire this guy? I'm done watching iso, especially since there is no broy to make that play money. Fire the entire fucking staff except for buck. Bring in crusty the clown. I don't care. I just want Nate gone no matter what it takes.

I have never been more embarrassed as a Blazer fan. Even more embarrassed than the lotto years.

I think the only reason Paul hasn't fired Nate is the same reason he hasn't hired a GM... there is no one out there better. Unless Jerry Fucking Sloan wants to come out of retirement to coach this team.

A "cancer?" I don't think this team currently has anybody on payroll that I'd call a "cancer." And frankly how can a mediocre team with an average coach be more embarrassing than the Mo Cheeks years? Seriously.

It doesn't matter. At this rate we won't even make the playoffs. Might as well fire his ass and let the nba world we have an open spot for a coaching staff. At least we can realistically work for a better draft pick.

Just how I feel. I'm ranting right now. Too frustrated to even think rationally I guess?

Again, Cheeks had a better regular season winning % with the Blazers than Nate has with the Blazers.

That's the most tired excuse. Nate apologists always say if you fire Nate, there's no one out there to replace him. Well, that's why its called a coaching SEARCH. Chicago hired Thibs without any head coaching experience. The Pacers have a nice, young coach in Frank Vogel. At one point in time legends like Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich were unknown entities. Those teams did their homework and found a good coach. There is no rule that says you must hire a head coach retread.

And even if you wanted to go the retread route, Rick Adelman and Kevin McHale were available in the offseason...

Nate is currently in his 12th NBA season as a head coach. His record in that time is 474-444 which equates to a 51.6 winning percentage. His playoff record is 14-20 which equates to a 41.2 winning percentage. Why are people so enamored with him? He is not that young, up and coming coach anymore. Twelve seasons is a sufficient sample size to show that he is a mediocre to below mediocre coach.

That was my first thought but Krusty is under contract with the Isotopes through 2013.

I'd like to see them hire Bill Laimbeer.

true... I'm not exactly a Nate supporter, but I dont remember Cheeks going through total rebuild from scratch like Nate has. I wouldnt put much stock personally into either's win %

There are plenty of bright hoop minds out there. There are talented assistants on every NBA coaching staff. That said, while I'm firmly in the Fire Nate camp, I also feel like it's not going to fix anything because this roster is such a mess. I'd rather hire a GM with a real vision, then let that guy go find the coach that will fit the players/system he will install.

So let me get this straight? You've got a coach that no one has understood what offense he's running for 5 years and that's hard to replace? This is laughable at best! PA has a yes man in Nate and McMuffin doesn't rock the boat. The real problem here is that PA is a ego maniac who no one wants to work for anymore!

I'll grant you McMuffin is in WAY OVER HIS HEAD as a NBA head coach, but until the ownernship changes it's going to be tough for a GM, Coach or top free agent player to ever want to come here.

PA has silently with his apathetic approach to all things Blazers, killed RIP CITY!!

Why the fuck do we still not have a GM? Seriously, what's the hold up? Now we're in a situation where we could use a new coach, but don't even have a GM to help find one. Maybe Paul thinks that by having both positions open at the same time he can lure someone like Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan to Portland.

Or maybe I'm just giving Paul Allen way to much credit. Maybe he really is this fucking stupid. Maybe he is the accidental billionaire that fell ass backwards into a huge ass fortune thanks to someone else's vision and talent. That might explain why he has fallen from the 6th richest man in the world to the 57th and his net worth has plummeted from over $41 billion to $13 billion. Is it just me, or does everything this guy touches eventually lose value? The guy has literally pissed away $28 billion. And now his team has no GM, an ineffective coach, no leadership and no direction. Sadly, I'm not surprised.

It's a very plausible theory. Perhaps Paul has read my posts for a couple of years, and has learned that he needs to push out Nate. To get one of the greatest coaches in history, he is holding the GM job open. I understand his genius as a father understands his son.

Why would Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan want to spend their senior citizen years working for this hot mess?
