"Last season, in the run up to the season, Erik Spoelstra tried to make the Heat's identity a team that used pressure defense and fast break attacks to overwhelm opponents. And at the start of the season they did that. But as the season wore on the Heat's pace dropped back to about the league average. In part that was due to injuries, in part due to teams adjusting to what the Heat tried to do. The Heat did play faster than the year before, but not fast all the time (only in spurts)." Well, Miami has an older roster. They have some younger guys (Wade, James, Bosh, Chalmers, etc) but they need to get a rest every now and then, they can't play at 125% every single minute of every single game. But that's what you get when you have Eddy Curry and Juwon Howard on the bench, they are older (Curry plays older cause of weight and heart problems) and slower. When you have 3 huge contracts, you can only afford veteran minimum contracts to tag along with it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Worked this year for them, keep it the same.
