I heard on the radio that it happened during the WSU game and he continued to play.

So, I know nothing about OSU QB's, but I recall reading that Riley was really high on Vaz back in the spring. And looking at the roster, I see a couple other freshman QB's (Vanderveen and Harrington). You guys think any of these guys will be able to play remotely effectively?

Guess we will see. I didn't think we were the 10th best team in the country despite our AP ranking before this so I'm not sure what to expect with a new QB. Anderson, Moore, Canfield, Mouvaue, Mannion all needed a year of experience to excel under Riley so I'm pretty sceptical we can beat the good teams with the new guy.

But hey we got what 4 wins? I think we can still beat BYU, Utah, and Nicolls State without our QB. One more upset win out of our five remaining games against WSH, ASU, STAN, CAL, ORE, and we are an 8 win team that is much better than I expected pre-season. If we can somehow win two of those games and win a bowl game your talking about a 10 win team. That would still be a super succesful year for the program.

Mannion has a torn meniscus and will have arthroscopic surgery tomorrow. I'm hopeful that he could be back in 4 weeks or so, but we'll see. I have confidence in Vaz though and I think we can win with him.

What a real shame. I feel badly for OSU. I was really hoping for big things for them.

I'm always hedging my hopes knowing that injuries loom for everyone... still sucks when it happens. Talented kid, hope he makes a full recovery

At least Cody Vaz isn't thrown into a Pac-12 game this coming saturday. At least BYU is a manageable opponent which barely beat Utah St. This is a good preparation before the Beavers take on struggling Utah team (who also lost @ Utah St. 20-27) and is currently 0-2 in the Pac 12.

I agree. Cody Vaz has a solid running game and WR's to help him get comfortable and get the W against BYU and Utah. Our defense will have to play even better than they already have. They have no room for error now.

Riley said on The Fan yesterday that best case scenario would be he'd be back in 3 weeks. He said that Mannion had already been in for 3 rehab treatments yesterday.
