I thought Renkin was supposed to be quite talented. I wonder what's up there? I love Freddy but he's a pretty low upside player. He'll be an excellent USL or NASL player. Hogg was a shot in the dark and it looks like the Timbers missed.

You need to add the acquisition of Michael Harrington from SKC.

also PTFC moved up to #2 in allocation order for returning USMNT/MLS players. I would KILL if they were able to get Bedoya!

I am officially getting excited with how this team could look next year!

    Potential Lineup of

    R Johnson ---- Boyd ---- Nagbe

    \ / /
    Diskerud
    \/

    Will Johnson --- Chara

    \ /
    LB --- Mosquera --- CB ----- Harrington

    |GK|

Bornstein seems like the most feasible upgrade and can play LB. We need another CB and Gleeson isnt ready for primetime.

That leaves us with a bench of
    GK - Gleeson
    CDM/RB- Jewsbury
    LW/LB - Wallace
    CM - Alexander
    CB - AJB
ST Mwanga (if Boyd is gone, then Mwanga starts and slot Dike/Valencia here
    RW - Kalif.

    Color me excited!

Diskerud would be real nice. I hope it's him they are targeting.

I'd really like to see Boyd play with someone who could really feed him the ball. I like Bornstein for MLS, but not for the national team.

Yep. Wondoloski's record wouldnt last long! ;)

This too. Awful in USMNT play, but very serviceable in MLS

I think Dike will win the job over Boyd.

hope not. Dike is probably my favorite of the USL Timbers but if he is your starting #9 you arent a very good team

Boyd's skill and Dike's work rate would make a damn good player.

I hope the Timbers keep Boyd at least til next Summer to give him a chance under Porter. I'm thinking he doesn't fit with Porter's style from what I'm hearing though. I think Boyd will be gone in January. Wil Johnson - Chara - Mix midfield with Johnson - Boyd - Nagbe forward line would be pretty nice.

oh yeah Boyd combined with Dike... YIKES. But yeah I'm guessing the same on Boyd too. Which is a shame, because with a good midfield he would score in boatloads. How he had 7 goals with our midfield is beyond me.

Also sounds like Mix deal fell through :( that one had me excited.

Dike is a beast. I think he can be a volume scorer in MLS.

Dont get me wrong I love Dike. But his first touch (and 2nd and 3rd) are severely lacking, to put it mildly.
