Have any of you.guys had it? I recently got it in my right foot. Hurts like hell. I got back into running six months ago (ran cross country in high school) and now i have this... What did you guys do to get rid of it??
Gf had(has) it. Buy some... BURKENSTOCKS! Basically you need to wear shoes with REALLY, REALLY good arch support for a FULL year.
I have it too. Hurts like a bitch when I play ball, and I mostly blame my crappy shoes for it. I was told to get orthotics.
I have it in both feet. Started getting it after about 10 years of running. It's not necessarily the brand of shoe, and even good shoes aren't much of a releif, but get the right arch supports. I used to really do extrta stretching before I ran and then when my feet started hurting, stop and stretch and then walk it out. When I started preceeding again often that would be enough to see me through- but not always. Another person told me they thought it was worse after eating pork, but I'm doubtful on that one.
get like a mini baseball bat, or a ball, and roll your foot on it a lot. If you're sitting down watching TV or something, roll your foot a lot. I had it, rolled it out, and was gone very quickly. And I run with barefoot shoes, so didn't need special arch support for it to go away.
Had a bad case of it about two years ago. Doctor took a look at my shoes and then asked me what other shoes I wear. He told me to throw most of them away...buy orthopedic inserts and good quality shoes from stores like "If the shoe fits", and "shoe mill". Also told me to not wear them more than a year whether they look worn out or not. Followed his advice, problem cleared up and has not come back. I also spend a lot more on shoes. But its probably worth it.
A) Rest for a bit and do low impact cardio B) Switch to New Balance running shoes. High arches and tons of padding in the heal. I've had it really bad twice, and shin splints once. Rest is really the only thing to heal it, and then alter your equipment.
