I thought Belfort did a tremendous job of using kicks to Bisping's mid-section to get his hands to drop and set up the kick to the head. Fairly simple strategy that we've seen countless times before, perhaps most famously with GSP knocking out Matt Hughes in their second fight--look low, kick high. Bisping didn't learn his lesson after almost getting knocked out at the end of the first with the same move.

he called him a clown. dont think the ufc wanted to give bisping the title shot because they made him fight vitor beforehand and most fans would have predicted tonights outcome.

The fact that he was fighting for a title shot after losing to Sonnen and beating Stann by decision seems to suggest that they were fast-tracking him. It was his second title eliminator in three fights.

A butthurt Wikipedia troll has put the result as TKO (TRT).

I don't think they were setting him up to lose. I expected Mike to stay on his bicycle and try to drag the fight into the late rounds. His problem was that Vitor sat back and countered rather than bullrushing him like everyone expected. Vitor wasn't going to get tired.

Guess now it's either Weidman (who Silva won't fight--not enough money to be made) or Luke Rockhold (even more unknown).

Will the UFC wait and see if Lombard can crumble Okami?

Wonder if Daniel Sarafian will drop to welterweight? Dunno how well a 5'9" middleweight with no gas tank will do in the UFC. Reminds me of Mike Pierce without the wrestling.

$50,000 bonuses went out to Vitor Belfort (knockout), CB Dolloway & Daniel Sarafian (fight), and Ildemar Alcantara (submission).

Maybe I shouldn't have watched the (3-hour) prelims? Made it seem worse than it was?

Ildemar Alcantara, who defeated Wagner Prado by submission, isn't a light heavyweight and will be moving down. In fact he's moving down to welterweight. Pretty amazing for him to debut 35-lbs. overweight and still pick up a win and a bonus.

Thiago Tavares failed his post-fight drug test. He has been handed a nine-month suspension. No word yet on what substance he was suspended for.
