Rudy Gay overcame a bad shooting night and nailed a two-point jump shot to put the Raptors ahead 100-98 tonight against the Pacers in overtime. For some reason, either the coach telling them not to or just forgetfulness on the part of the Pacers, they didn't foul Gay before he shot despite having one to give. Paul George's shot at the buzzer bounced off the rim. Gay also made the key play to force overtime, stealing a ludicrous and unnecessary quick in-bounds pass by the Pacers and passing off to Amir Johnson who followed his missed shot and put away a close basket with no time remaining on the clock. This might go down as the best win of the season for the Raps. Stuck ten for most of the game they refused to quit. Huge efforts by Johnson, Gay, and DeMar DeRozan. Positive contributions from Andrea Bargnani and Jonas Valanciunas off the bench. Kyle Lowry had a quiet night taking only four shots. There were some nervy moments in the fourth quarter. With Bargnani and Valanciunas on the court after Johnson fouled out, Coach Casey (for some baffling reason) put the rookie on David West and Bargnani on Roy Hibbert. Valanciunas was too slow and inexperienced to guard West from 18' in and allowed several baskets. West was unable to convert all of his chances, thankfully.
The foul count was 31-to-22 in favour of the Pacers but at many points in the game it felt like 50-to-0. Raps still not getting respect from the officials.

First of many baby! Great effort by the whole team. Hate Lance Stephenson and his smug face. And Pyscho T had that disgusting foul on Val. Speaking of which, Val played fantastic and Bargs looks great in the sixth man role. However, Paul George is a stud
I'm going to curtail my disdain for Gay on ya'lls board, because I don't want to be a troll about it, but what did Psycho T do though? I've always been a Hansbrough fan. I know that he's intense, but I've never thought of him as dirty. He's the antithesis of the stereotypical white NBA player. I remember watching him in a UNC/Duke game, where Gerald Henderson broke his nose, and instead of crying about it, the guy wanted a piece of Henderson. I've also got a sorta boring story a friend told me about Psycho T. My friend played his AAU ball in Missouri, and the first time he was in the same tournament as Hansbrough's team, it was in one of those gyms that's bracketed off into three courts by tarps. He said even though he played on the first court and Hansbrough played on the third, he couldn't concentrate because the entire game all he heard was Psycho T screaming and yelling from all the way on the other side of the gym. Boring story, but that always painted a pretty vivid mental image for me of Hansbrough's intensity, even from his AAU days. It's hard not to root for a player that brings that sort of grit 'n grind to the court every time he plays.

Rudy Gay, Raptors end Pacers' 15-game home win streak in OT Rudy Gay is making a difference in Toronto, and the Raptors couldn't be happier with their newest player. Gay rediscovered his shooting touch in time to score 17 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and overtime Friday night. He hit a 17-foot jumper with 1.7 seconds left in the extra period to send the Raptors past the Indiana Pacers 100-98.
