Chicago Bulls received a call from the Houston Rockets about Thomas Robinson but told them they weren't interested. The rumor wasn’t true. The Bulls got a call and said they weren’t interested. They don’t need another power forward and would have to pay luxury tax on the difference in salary between Robinson and the No. 20 pick. This likely means the Rockets Reporter bumped up his value to try to increase his bid or find some team interested Read more dailyherald.com/node/7640
The Thomas Robinson thing is interesting. Robinson was generally acknowledged as a stud 12 months ago when Sacramento made him the 5th overall pick. The Kings give him 16mpg up until the trade deadline and then trade him to Houston for nothing special. Now the Rockets are dying to get rid of him, reportedly to make room for a DHoward offer. It's not just the Bulls...no one seems to be interested in Robinson. We should find out soon just how badly the Rockets want to rid themselves of Robinson, 'cause they need to drop their asking price.
Ralph at realgm said this is not true. He said we were going to include Taj in the trade for LA. And use Robinson as his replacement. Ralph claims to have NBA sources.
Agreed transplant. In 15 MPG, he was decent after being traded to the Rockets. He clearly likes to play defense and rebound. On the other hand, 5RPG and 5PPG are numbers you might beat with even the #20 pick. He gets paid a lot in the new CBA to be a 15 minute player. The bulls could use the TPE or Rip's contract to get him for nothing.
