If the first domino gently tipped with Doc Rivers' departure at the start of the week, then the Boston Celtics dropped a wrecking ball on the rest of the track with Thursday night's blockbuster swap with the Brooklyn Nets.

Now we know which direction the Celtics are going in this summer: Grab your hard hat, it's a full-fledged rebuild.

Yet this trade only leads to a new batch of questions about Boston's offseason. Let's try to make sense of what's happened and what lies ahead by tackling eight lingering questions (one for each player involved in Thursday's trade):

I think somewhere around 35 wins. We are not going to get Wiggins..but looks like an 8-12 pick. That said I would not be surprised if Rondo., Green, Sully, and Sunshine are better than expected and get the Cs into the playoffs. I actually have always liked Wallace. contract is bad but he is a great all around player and will give an A+ effort

I'd say somewhere between the 41-41 playoff option and the the 33-49 win option.

The talent doesn't look that great on paper, but at the end of the day, you have to look at their future relative to the competition in the East. The last two full seasons, a team with a sub-.500 record has made the playoffs in the East, and now with teams like Philly tanking and teams like Milwaukee and Atlanta losing a lot of their key players from last season, it wouldn't surprise me if Boston was in a position to slip into the playoffs at the end of the season, and with veterans like Rondo, Wallace, Humphries, and Bass, I doubt they'd be looking to tank if there was a chance to slip in there.

I'm not sure if winning big in the 2014 free agency won't wind up being a bigger goal for the Celtics than the 2014 draft.

What's the latest on Sullinger's back? I've been a fan of his from his college days... if he's healthy, he's one of the best young forwards in the NBA, a real undervalued asset.

Supposedly surgery went well on Sullys back and he is expected to be ready. He was practicing a little with Summer League Team. He could come back with a little more spring in his step once he's fully recovered...but have to wait and see.

I don't know what type of surgery Sully had on his back but if it was just a herniated disc then he'll be fine. And trust me you're hearing from someone's who's had 16 back surgeries over the last 15 years.

As far as how many wins we'll end up with I'd have to agree with you Dan on the 35. But like what was also said, the bottom part of the east got weaker & we just may make the 8th seed with 35 wins. Remember we that I think it was around 10 years ago 35-47. Then again all these young kids might just surprise the hell out of everybody.

as I see the team now I see 35-40 wins, just missing the playoffs in about the 9th seed. But I don't believe this is the roster we will go into the season with. There are more moves coming. We are slightly over the Luxury Tax and I think Danny wants to get under it for this season to get off the repeat offenders list.

They currently have a 15 man roster & that doesn't include the new big kid Iverson. And now I hear they want to sign Pressy (forgive the spelling) So if they add these two then two others will have to go. probably for future draft picks.

If Rondo is healthy all year, they will be a playoff team. The east is so bad. If they want to tank for a lottery pick, they have to trade him or hope for an injury. Otherwise, they will be stuck in no man's land, playoffs... one and done... no lottery pick.

I agree. As weak as the east is, this team (as is) could sneak into the 8th seed with 35-36 wins.

I think for sure that this is a playoff team in the east as it currently stands. Miami, NJ, Chicago, Indiana are 1234, after that the Knicks do not impress me, Cleveland could be better than most people think if Byrum is healthy. Atlanta and Milwaukee are falling backwards, it wouldn't surprise me if they finish anywhere from 6 to 8 in the conference. I hated seeing the press conference yesterday, it showed to me how committed KG and Paul were to the Celtics, the harsh reality it was the right move. We will have a bright future and forget all this tanking crap. When Danny took over, it took him several years to acquire assets to make the move for KG and Ray. He already has the assets, If KO and Iverson who I love and reminds me of Perkins in so many ways contribute this year will not be as bad as people think. Mind you, I know what Iverson is, but if he comes in, plays defense, sets pics that take the air out of people, cleans up underneath on offense, he is a plus.

If you're right it's not a bad thing as I think the 2014 draft will be a lot stronger then the 2013 draft. And although I don't see it happening it will give us a shot at the projected #1 pick Wiggins.

But with the East as weak as it is don't be suprised if a team (like the Celtics) gets the 8th seed with only 35-36 wins.

They've also got Green & I like this kid Sullinger. I think he's going to be a keeper. I'm also expecting good things from the big kid from Gonzaga

ea but they will not put all the pressure on them its going to be Rondo Rondo Rondo i think there going to be a 1st round playoff caliber team its time for rondo to look for a new home IMO

I'm not really sure why the Cs traded away one of there most productive players in Crawford. I can only assume that with Rondo coming back the'll use Bradley as the SG. Also I don't know how much good Anthong is going to be but we'll see.

Rick, he was never going to be a part of the plan going forward. With 6 #1's over the next 3 years Ainge did what he should have done, sold high. Besides, I'm not sure I could ever trust his game.

They need to start show casing Wallace so someone might take interest in him. And the Cs can unload another 20+M over the next 2 years. If he performs well enough maybe we can trade him to a low level team for ANOTHER 1st round pick.

You have some very valid points and I completely agree with you. If we keep Rondo healthy we will make the playoffs easy. Hopefully Iverson steps it up and does what he does best, defense.
