Re: Bobcats Core Kidd-Gilchrist plays SF. Henderson is a guard. You're not comparing similar players.
Re: Bobcats Core I think MKG could still be a good player.... but I said before the draft that he's just an athlete. The guy isn't a polished offensive player. He relied on his athleticism to be great at college, but that doesn't get you as far in the pros. He needs a lot of development.
Re: Bobcats Core I think the Bobcats did well picking both Kemba Walker and MKG. Byombo remains raw, but a solid pick too. But otherwise, they've struggled to pick right or get anything lucky. Slow, slow rebuild. They still need to find their SPECIAL player to build around IMO.
Re: Bobcats Core I also think Jeffery Taylor is going to be really solid for them. He's a better Thabo Sefolosha.
Re: Bobcats Core I disagree with this for two reasons: 1. He's not actually that great an athlete - at least not in the "crazy hops" department. He's more Joe Johnson than Vinsanity. 2. He's actually a really good basketball player... who can't shoot a lick. He's sort of Gerald Wallace after he lost his hops but learned how to play. But before his game fell off a cliff.
Re: Bobcats Core I don't know about ya'll, but after reading through this thread, I'm really hyped to throw down some serious money on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants to win the NBDL title this season... EDIT: Then again, the Bobcast are in the East, so even if they can only win 40% of their games, they'll still have a shot at the playoffs, while teams like Portland clear the .500 mark against better competition next season and still sit in 10th place.
Re: Bobcats Core fair enough. I guess I misunderstood your premise: And if there was some hypothetical Wes-for-MKG trade available, I personally think you could start MKG next to Lillard and Batum.
Re: Bobcats Core Really? Have you looked at his advanced stats? Other than Nolan Smith, Byombo's advanced stats are worse than pretty much everyone else taken in the top 25 picks of the 2011 draft. The fact that they traded up to take a worse player makes it an even worse decision. BNM
Re: Bobcats Core I didn't think the East would be so abysmal this season when you posted this thread. The Bobcats aren't a good team, and their core sucks because Jefferson is the worst defensive 5 in the NBA that gets major minutes.
