I can't imagine how quickly the internet would combust if these comments were by Todd Akin or Joe Wilson instead of Barbara Morgan.

Republican South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford had an extramarital affair with an Argentinian woman. Republican Nikki Haley then ran for governor in 2010. She was married. During her campaign, she had an affair with Sanford's press secretary Will Folks. Folks says so. Phone records show 700 calls between the two during the campaign. Larry Marchant, a consultant for her opponent in the Republican primary, Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, said that Marchant and Haley had had sex. So she promised the public in June 2010 that if elected governor and the claims were later validated, she would resign. She was elected and plans to be re-elected.

Why doesn't the national media persecute her, as it does Democrats? Because Republicans own the mainstream media.

What?! The "media" is mostly run by liberal Jews...

EDIT: I'm sorry if that seems offensive to any Jewish posters, but it's the truth. As of tomorrow, I'm gone from these boards, except for some sporadic postings here and there, and one of the few things I can can attest to as a lower middle class minority from Memphis that went to an elite private university, full of rich Jews, is that Jews run most aspects of the entertainment industry. I'm not even going to expound upon that one... that's a fact.

You're thinking of the middle of the pyramid, the reporters. I'm thinking of the apex of the pyramid, the super-rich owners, of any religion (few are religious).

By the way, since you notice Jews, you will find that they compose 95% of your new, chosen field. Prosecutor, defense, and judge.

Really... they're the middle? How about these guys -

Gerald Levin, CEO and Director of AOL Time Warner

Michael Eisner, Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company

Edgar Bronfman, Sr., Chairman of Seagram Company Ltd

Edgar Bronfman, Jr, President and CEO of Seagram Company Ltd and head of Universal Studios

Sumner Redstone, Chairman and CEO of Viacom, Inc

Dennis Dammerman, Vice Chairman of General Electric

Peter Chernin, President and Co-COO of News Corporation Limited

That's really just a taste... the list is expansive for such a minority, especially once you bring in the "middle," meaning Hollywood.

As for my chosen profession, I'm not anti-semitic, so that won't bother me. Hell, I went to school for four years with seemingly nothing but Jewish kids, and some of them are my best friends. Their parents also happen to own Manchester United, the Tampa Bay Rays, etc., but nah... there's no correlation between Judiasm and influence...

That list is useful only if you put next to each person, the % that he owns of the company. As I keep saying, I'm talking about owners.

Well, seeing how all of those major media conglomerations are publicly traded, I would assume that the CEO would yield a bit of influence...

I know you're joking, but perhaps the reason the media isn't writing about South Carolina is for two reasons- first, who cares about South Carolina, and, second, there's a reason their football team is called the "Game Cocks".

What do you think I'm joking about? The media isn't persecuting the married Gov. Haley for recent affairs, but it persecuted Congressman Weiner out of his job for cell phone pictures, and is trying again.

No sex. Pictures. Does the Bible say you can't send naked pictures on your cell phone? Why aren't Republicans snickering at Haley? Why did they elect her? Her secrets came out in May and June 2010, plenty of advance notice. They elected her in November 2010 and she's sailing toward easy reeection. The media mentions her for a bright future in a presidential cabinet or maybe the presidency itself.

Where's the outrage from the usual suspects--conservatives, religious people, and lesbian manhaters?

What I see is hypocrisy. A nation enjoys a sexual revolution, but its conservative-owned news media won't allow its political system to participate.

Texting naked pictures is what young people do nowadays. I wouldn't, but why are politicians excluded from the cultural norms of the American Way.

I don't get it. Weiner looks like a boner, and I think his wife is kinda hot. She's a fairly powerful, connected woman. She could do a lot better.

What's amazing to me is that this is the Communications Director, the person that's supposed to be responsible for the messaging. The smart move here is to admit that Rep. Weiner had a problem, that it's in the past, that his wife and forgiven him and that his issues in no way compromise his ability to shepherd New York City as its mayor. Part and parcel of that is treating the women involved in these texting and phone sex incidences with respect. It's an opportunity to try to show how Weiner respects women, even if his actions say otherwise.

For his Communications Director to try to trash this 22 year old confirms for everyone exactly what Weiner thinks about women. It's just really bad strategy.

Everyone talks fast in New York City, even the macho construction men in helmets. There are no strong silent John Waynes. They've had crazy fast-talking mayors for a long time.

She said in a later article that she thought she was talking off the record. 5 words in, this would be obvious to an ethical reporter, who would ask her, "Do you think this is off the record? Because it isn't." The unnamed reporter 1) didn't warn her and 2) quoted every possible cuss word, showing that this reporter has an agenda.
