Plus, DD was the only player on the planet who could guard Shaq with any effectiveness at all. Jermaine wasn't ready yet, and Shaq was the largest obstacle (literally and figuratively) between us and the Promised Land. Getting DD for Jermaine made perfect sense at the time, as, by the way, did trading Andre Miller for the 5andbagger.

I think you mean Will, Mo.

Don't don't call him Ho. Mo "Ho" Williams

I love the signing, but do the math.

The guy is not going to play just 8 minutes a game backing up Lillard.

Or he's going to be REALLY unhappy and you guys will be calling him crawful by the end of the season.

The true superstars do play 40+ type minutes. Is Lillard going to be one or not? I think you have to play him and find out.

So that means Mo is going to play a lot of minutes at SG and CJ may get near zero.

Or maybe you play 3 guards with LMA at center for the 24 minutes that Lopez rests. That works :)

This is what I was basically saying above. But as some of other posters pointed out. There is a shade of grey in there. Doesn't need to be quite as black and white as you and I painted it.

Getting better players always is a problem in terms of minutes for teams. I'd rather worry about how many minutes Mo Williams is going to play versus praying the Ronnie Price doesn't have to play a single minute.

Mo is the only reliable guard off the bench. He'll get plenty of minutes.

Another former All-Star we got was Shareef Abdur-Rahim, midseason 2 years after he was in the game.

...Most teams wait to hang up a player's number for quite a few years after retirement. The decision on Roy should be made in 10 years. Until then, Blazers should use his number.

Also, don't forget that Roy keeping his injury secret and robbing Paul Allen of $80 million cost a GM his job.

Where's the love for Former All-Star Jamaal Magloire. I can't believe how quickly they forget. During his one season in Portland he became the poster child for why being a Former All-Star don't mean shit.

You will see a lot of Mo and Dame playing together, with Dame plying off the ball. It worked really well last year with Eric Maynor. It will work even better with Mo Williams.

You will actually see plenty of the 3 guard lineup with Wes, Dame and Mo. Wes is very strong and capable of guarding most SFs. Not for long stretches, but most teams go with a small lineup for a few minutes each half, and if it creates a favorable mismatch on any given night, they tend to ride it out as long as it's effective.

If C.J. is good enough to EARN minutes, he'll get them. If not, they will go to someone more deserving. Not sure how that's a bad thing.

Plus, there are always injuries, suspensions, back-to-backs, etc. When one player misses a game, that's 48 minutes for everyone else to divide up.

I was kicking myself for not bringing him up earlier...

I tell you what: I wish we'd've had Mo when Roy was healthy.

Thanks! I'd be happy to be wrong. I certainly was about 'Sheed, for example - I've seldom hated a trade so much as the Strickland-Wallace trade, but 'Sheed became one of my faves (except for brainfarts like the Towel Incident). And I'm grudgingly coming around on Lillard...

I try to throw enough shit out that some of it sticks.

Magloire tried kicking himself in the ass, but his feet were glued to the floor...
