I for one am shocked that Aldridge, still with the team and having to play in front of our fans, says he never asked for a trade
Yes, of course you are. Why accept words directly from the source when they contradict those in the media who have papers to sell and blogs to pimp and "fans" in this forum who have never even met the man, let alone have any insights into what he actually wants. Of course, if I was Aldridge and read the constant, never ending stream of negative crap spouted by some of the "fans" in this forum, I'd want the hell out of town. Why even follow the team if you're so eager to see something negative in everything they do? BNM
Other famous words from people Clinton did have Sexual Relations With That Woman First everyone understand OJ had everything to do with Nicole's murder Nixon was a crook Pete did bet on baseball A-Rod and others actually did take steroids. Hey, it came directly from their mouths, so obviously you believe the above, and not what really happened
Yeah, because all of those things are EXACTLY like Aldridge's situation. Seriously, what a ridiculous thing to say. Aldridge isn't facing impeachment, jail time or a lifetime ban from the sport. Really, you don't see the substantial differences? BNM
Blazers are in a rebuilding mode and LA doesn't want to be part of a rebuilding team. Blazers have one year to prove the team is on the short path to being a playoff team and a title contender. If Blazers fail to make the playoffs, I think Olshey looks to move Aldridge. This is, at the very least, the message LA wants the Blazers organization to know. I would love to know what was exchanged between Olshey and LA's agent . . . but we probably will never know what that summertime discussion was exactly about. Sidenote: I remember just recently when Howard made some representation to the media that he likes his coach and never went to management looking to get him fired (contrary to media reports). Then they interview Van Gundy right after and he basically let the media know that Howard was flat out lying. Anyone remember this . . . awkward.
His agent (Arn Tellem) also represents Robin Lopez and Dorrell Wright. During the Mo W signing press conference Olshey said something about them talking about players other than Aldridge. Maybe all three of them are demanding trades.
I think you are flat out lying to yourself. Multiple people have reported he, or his people asked for a trade. What is he supposed to say since it didn't, or hasn't happened yet.
Or quite possibly, you maybe wearing that "tin foil hat" on too tight. As said above, Arn Tellem represents Wright, Aldridge and Mo Williams. The hotel conversation could have been obtaining Wright and Williams, instead of trade ideas for Aldridge? And the multiple reports all stemmed from the Jason Quick (Whom openly admitted he doesn't like to talk with nba players) rumor. He planted the seed and the rest ran with it. Regardless, Aldridge is still here and you said he was as good as gone before the season starts. Now I suspect you will say by trade deadline. Then if that passes, you will say by draft day and so on until Aldridge signs an extension. Question.... If Aldridge does re-sign with the Blazers, will you suspect Portland will trade him? I just want to know when we can stop with the "Aldridge is good as gone" posts from the likes of you and others like you.
You're acting in the exact same manner - just on the other end of the spectrum. LMA may have refuted the idea that he demanded a trade - but that may or may not be true...just because he said it doesn't make it so. Even if true, it doesn't mean that he didn't suggest the idea of a trade. And even if he didn't talk about trades AT ALL, it doesn't mean he doesn't hope to be traded. Additionally, he has not made any comment about WANTING to stay here long-term - he just said he hasn't asked out, and hasn't given Neil a chance. You're trying to pretend that you KNOW that LMA wants to stay, just like others are pretending to KNOW that he wants to leave. I still think there's more evidence in support of him leaving than staying, but to say with any certainty that he wants to stay/leave is silly. You want to condemn others for saying he's going to leave, yet you're being just as blind in your statements of him not wanting to leave.
Let's be real here. Jason Quick had to quit the Blazer beat because of the twisting of quotes that he attributed to LMA hating Portland. The Blazer players basically told the guy to fuck off, his access was gone, and then poor Quickie wrote a woe-is-me article about how mean the big bad NBA players are. Now, Oregon Duck players are already calling him out for making up stuff in yesterday's Thomas Tyner article. Jason Quick seems to excel in taking parts of quotes and concocting a story out of it. He's the Ben Mezrich of NBA beat writers.
"I was a little disappointed (at season's end). Probably a little overly emotional about it. But everything is looking good," Aldridge said. “"I did the whole rebuilding thing. I want to win. I told him let's get better this summer. I think (Olshey's) done that." --- Aldridge. Basically saying, as long as Olshey is putting a team that can win around Aldridge, he says he stays in this quote. http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/5029...and-trail-blazers-nba-rumors.htm#.UiiyfRajJQQ
Here is the timeline of the articles. http://www.oregonlive.com/beavers/index.ssf/2013/06/blazers_insider_although_lamar.html This was an article dated June 26th, 2013 and made by Jason Quick. Then here was the Haynes article, dated June 27th, 2013 (One day after Quick's article) http://www.csnnw.com/blog/blazers-t...oved-contender-not-opposed-returning-portland
Haynes' source is Quick. Quick's is Haynes. When one refers to multiple reports, he means reporters--who all have the same source. The source is the same group who made an appointment with Canzano to inform him that Allen is selling the team. Then Canzano headlined it and Blazer rubes went into anti-Allen fever for a couple of months. Canzano continues to keep their lying names secret. There is one source out there intent upon turning the city against the team. The Oregonian encourages this source.
