you believe god determines your fate based on your actions. no "karma" involved. karma by standard definitions intrinsically implies the objective existence of morality apart from the will of god. this is overtly unbiblical. there is no way belief in karma can logically fit with Christianity, unless you want to completely redefine what everyone generally means by the terms. but then again you do that with atheism so that would be nothing new.
Funny how you twisted the response to your original response. Let's get back to topic shall we? You said I can't believe in "karma" because god controls us. Sorry, that is far from biblical; when God said we have our own free will. No control there. As far as the karma debate; I had a different idea and used the word in tongue and cheek; "see reply to sly". So my idea of karma is different. Then you say even atheists believe in karma to some extent. Funny how it's compatible to your ideas; but damn any other ideology in this regard. Seems you just pick and choose what suits you. Kinda like saying you are an agnostic atheist
You might be onto something here, a type of Karma for Christians. You can't call it Karma, why not Magma!
Okay so I won't use karma; but Christians used something similar. There have been many scripture that focused on doing things to others as you want done to you. Scripture that you receive blessings and rewards in heaven; by actions you have done on earth. Maybe the end all reward isn't compatible; but the basic message is the same.
no I did not. I said (according to the bible) GOD is the arbiter and executioner of the outcome of our choices. yes we have free will, but it is god that is judging our actions and deciding outcomes, not "karma" (unless you want to rename the "will of god" karma, which is stretching the definition of karma too thin to be meaningful.) the whole point of karma in eastern religions is that morality (good and evil, right and wrong) objectively exists whether god does or not. in other words there objectively exists a standard APART from the will of god against which our actions are judged. this pretty much contradicts the bible. you completely misunderstood that post. my point was it is psychologically interesting that SOME skeptic/atheist types (not me) seem to want to cling to the notion of a metaphysical type of karma even though it is logically NOT compatible with how they would otherwise approach the world. I was calling them out. I am one or both varying widely depending on your definition of god. that shouldn't be hard to understand.
I wasn't aware of this. Could you could post some links showing where children are raped, then get 'slut slammed?' Go Blazers
Google "slut shaming of rape victims." It's an actual issue that actual people are concerned with. Actually.
When Ariel Castro kept 3 women at his home, it was top-of-the-page news for months. He was sentenced to over 100 years and apparently killed himself immediately. (Jailers are never investigated.) When 3 women kept 3 men behind a door that was nailed shut for up to 10 years...it was non-news. By chance, I happened upon this blog 3 months later. http://blog.aarp.org/2013/07/19/old...9399_Older-Men-Rescued-After-Years-in-Houston You just know it's the man.
