Two-parter: 10 years from now, who will have scored more points in a non-Blazers uniform in their career, Oden or Roy? And... Is that what you would've thought on July 6, 2012, the day Roy signed his Minny contract? For me, I now think Oden, and that's not a switch from last July. For the record, Roy is sitting at 29 points (in 5 games and 122 total minutes)
Oh I didn't realize Roy only had 29 points. So it's basically will Oden get more than 29 points. I probably would change my answer and say yes, Oden will have more points. I don't think I would have predicted that early on, but it's reasonable.
Oden will have more, and I've always thought that. I argued that we should never have cut Oden. I think I will be proven right.
I agree. For what it would have cost the team in $$ and in opportunity cost, I would have kept him. However, it seems likely that he didn't want to be in Portland anymore anyway. If we'd kept him, I suspect he'd still be a Meat today. Oh, yeah: Oden will score more, and if I'd been asked then I'd have said the same. I figured Roy was done for sure and was just Kahnning the Pups out of $5million.
Wow, so everyone thinks that Oden's "comeback" is at least more legit than Roy's? I wouldn't have guessed that. Or, the non-believers are biding their time until Knee Explosion, and then dropping the "I told you so's".
HA. The dude had 4 (!!!) knee surgeries, 3 (!!!!!!!!) of which were fucking microfracture. His knees don't need to explode anymore for him to be sidelined. They're like the walls of the Roman Coliseum...they're just crumbling.
Funny, I didn't realize Roy got 29 points. I have no doubt Greg will make it. Miami seems to have the medical staff he needed all along.
My vote for GO was mostly because 30 points isn't that hard to accrue over the course of 10 years. And I see Greg trying to come back even if he does get hurt again, where I believe BRoy is done for good.
Oden will score scores more scores than Brandon in a non-Blazer uniform. I knew that the second Brandon retired the second time.
