I don't grow weed. I have too much to lose! Plus I don't think the nutrients the fish gives will be enough to make dank shit!
I won't grow tomatoes in this system because of how dense the roots are. I did build a separate unit, using a 55 gallon drum and larger siphon, but that will be used in the system at work.
I was thinking what a great salad you could make, but you have to have tomatoes. This should be stickied so we can see the progress.
HEY MAGS!!!! Brother, I want an update, please! Thanks to SPD for finding this thread for me, I am sure that there are several who would like to revisit this project of yours. Also I am looking at starting up something similar, and any advise after a year of operation I am sure would be of benefit.
Oh crap... Yeah I can give you an update. The fish are huge now, but I'm in process of redesigning the green house. The Lancaster winds completely demolished my plastic tarp cover, so I'm going with something more permanent. Also, the fucking strawberries had these bugs that went ape shit on my plants. I had to pull them all. When the new greenhouse is up, I will post more pictures. This was the brussel sprouts I pulled before shit hit the fan
Japan just debuted the world's largest indoor farm using LED lights that emit wavelengths optimal for plant growth; The upshot: grows 2.5x faster than outdoors; reduces produce loss from 50% to just 10% and cuts water usage to just 1% http://www.gereports.com/post/91250246340/lettuce-see-the-future-japanese-farmer-builds
Wow, crazy shit! How did I miss this thread until now? How much did all this cost you? Have you eaten any of the fish yet? Can we at least get a pic of your wife in a bikini working in the greenhouse?
