The Bible lumbs homosexuality in with all other forms of sexual immorality. Sexual immorality is condemned multiple times throughout the New Testament. Scripture does not differentiate between homosexuality and other forms of sexual immorality, including premarital sex, extra-marital sex, incestuous sex, etc. The only issue is that homosexual sex is the only form of "sexual immorality" that people are trying to justify as not being unbiblical.

What does the pope have to do with a literal interpretation of the Bible? Also, you do realize that the pope is the head of the Catholic Church, and not all of Christianity, right? Seems as if you didn't know this.

It's kind of funny how the Breitbart article gives context to the quote, yet we still get idiotic posts about this non-story. Apparently statimg a factual account of what the Bible lists as sins is now unacceptable.

One thing I've learned after years of interwebbing is that both the Christian and anti-Christian zealots cannot be reasoned with enough so they can see gray areas. This Robertson is a perfect example of it.

thinking the bible is a fairy tale is obviously not bigotry.

acting like Christians are garbage would be bigotry, but nobody here is doing that.

Your posts are bigoted against Christians. I'm not a Christian, but even I can see it.

Again, take it up with the author of the Bible. He or she is the person who listed homosexuality among many other supposed sins. If a guy can't even discuss what's in the Bible, then discussing any religious text should be off-limits.

He's not discussing religious text. If he had just done that there wouldn't be a problem. He's judging homosexuals and others in a harsh and insulting (and many Christians would say unbiblical) manner.

I wonder if he has any tattoos.

I'm argumentative and biased but I'm not a bigot. I've never wrote anything that's hateful or condemning against Christians here. In general I love Christians and I think at least to this point in history Christianity has been a net positive for humanity.

What are you talking about? Context to a quote? How about the source of the actual quote? GQ writes an article that spins people up and not once has a link to the actual article been posted here in this thread. I never said that any post in this thread is unacceptable.

yeah..there are several places that speak of man and woman as the practical pairing. Another thing that seems to be getting over looked is the fact that other religious texts deal with the subject in far harsher terms. The christian extreme is to love the sinner and hate the sin. Muslim extreme is to put to death..do I need to pull other examples?

I guess the message there is that we should just assume everyone who doesn't work on Sundays is homophobic?

I can't think of any scripture of any religion that teaches the benefits of homosexual acts.

The Muslims Probably are the most harsh on the subject making Leviticus tame with it's an
"abomination". What many Gays should know is that while many people want to leave Gays alone or not judge them, they still do not want hear about their activity because it is disgusting.
So Leviticus in not so far from the true feeling of many men even if they wish to leave judgement to the Lord.
