Amardi, No. 14 Ducks defeat Cal Poly 82-61

Oregon is off to its best start in seven years, and the players say they are still getting used to each other.

A team with seven transfers is searching for its identity, and the No. 14 Ducks' 82-61 victory over Cal Poly showed they might have it.

Aaron Gordon guides No. 2 Arizona to rout of Texas Tech

A little sloppy, but no serious letdown.

That's the best way to describe No. 2 Arizona's first outing since its emotional victory over Duke in the championship game of the NIT Season Tip-off.

Freshman Aaron Gordon scored 19 points, Nick Johnson and Brandon Ashley added 18 each, and the Wildcats beat Texas Tech 79-58 on Tuesday night.

    Askia Booker's buzzer-beater sinks No. 6 Jayhawks

Long after the kids from Kansas have started raking in their NBA bucks, Askia Booker of Colorado will still be talking about the day he struck it big -- the day he made the shot at the buzzer to beat the Jayhawks.

Booker grabbed an inbounds pass, dribbled twice, took two long steps, then launched the 3-pointer that gave Colorado a 75-72 victory Saturday and left him gasping for air underneath a pile of court-storming Buffs fans.

No. 13 Ducks overcome Marshall Henderson, Ole Miss in OT

Mike Moser scored 24 points, Johnathan Loyd added 23 points and 15 assists and the Oregon Ducks made almost every shot they tossed toward the basket Sunday.

It's a good thing. They needed just about every single one of them.

No. 13 Oregon outlasted Mississippi 115-105 in an entertaining overtime game that featured 15 lead changes, 14 ties and some ridiculous 3-point shooting from the Rebels.

Arizona runs over New Mexico State in 1st game in decade at No. 1

Listening to his coach's admonishment to attack more, Arizona freshman Rondae Hollis-Jefferson took off from the right side of the lane, planted his right arm on his opponent's head and unleashed a vicious dunk that left the home crowd stunned.

Letdown? It was more of a beatdown.

Shaking off a slow start as they adjusted to a quirky defense, the Wildcats showed no sign of slowing down in their first game as the nation's No. 1 team, racing to a 74-48 victory over New Mexico State on Wednesday night.

No. 1 Arizona rallies late to win at Michigan

With Arizona's No. 1 ranking hanging precariously in the balance, T.J. McConnell hustled over to the corner for the biggest offensive rebound of the game.

Then Nick Johnson drew a foul, and the Wildcats overtook Michigan at the free throw line.

Johnson made six free throws over the final 25 seconds, and Arizona held on for a 72-70 victory over the Wolverines on Saturday after rallying from an 11-point deficit in the second half.

Oregon rallies to beat Illinois, stay unbeaten at 9-0

Oregon's Mike Moser was happy to be home.

The senior transfer from UNLV played at Portland's Grant High School. He easily had the loudest cheering section Saturday night when he had 14 points and nine rebounds in the 15th-ranked Ducks' 71-64 victory over Illinois at the Moda Center, home of the NBA's Trail Blazers.

The return of Dominic Artis has given Oregon a bounty of talented players, a problem coach Dana Altman is happy to have.

Artis, last year's starting point guard, returned from a nine-game suspension to score five points and grab eight rebounds in the No. 13 Ducks' 91-63 win over UC Irvine on Tuesday night.

Chasson Randle, Stanford upset No. 10 UConn

Aaron Gordon nets 21 to help No. 1 Arizona rout Southern

The signs were there for a letdown.

Arizona was coming off arguably its biggest win of the season. The Wildcats were playing without 7-foot center Kaleb Tarczewski and in the midst of finals for their coursework.

It wasn't always pretty, but they shook off the distractions and pulled away for another victory.

Aaron Gordon scored 21 points, Nick Johnson added 17 and Arizona opened its second week at No. 1 with a 69-43 rout of Southern on Thursday night.

Nick Johnson, No. 1 Arizona coast to rout of NAU

Arizona knocked off some quality opponents, rolled over a few overmatched ones and grinded out victories even when things didn't go so well.

The Wildcats weren't perfect during their nonconference season, but their record was, and that's all that matters to them.

Nick Johnson scored 20 points, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 14 and top-ranked Arizona rolled over Northern Arizona 77-44 on Monday night to complete its second straight undefeated nonconference slate.

No. 12 Oregon thwarts Morgan State, continues stellar start

Oregon coach Dana Altman said there probably isn't a team in the country satisfied with how it's playing right now and his is no different.

The 12th-ranked Ducks just look better doing it than most.

Joseph Young scored 24 points and Oregon continued its best start in eight seasons with a 97-76 victory over Morgan State on Sunday.

No. 1 Arizona holds WSU to 25 points in record-breaker

An outstanding Arizona defense faced a weak, short-handed Washington State offense, and the result was a record-breaking victory for the top-ranked Wildcats.

Kaleb Tarczewski scored 11 points, and Arizona opened its Pac-12 season with a 60-25 rout of the Cougars on Thursday night, shattering the McKale Center record for fewest points by a team.

Damyean Dotson's last-second OT dunk lifts No. 10 Ducks over Utah

One possession changed the game for No. 10 Oregon, and Damyean Dotson played the most important role in letting it unfold.

Faced with Utah setting up a potential game-winning shot in the waning seconds of overtime, Dominic Artis tipped a pass intended for Dallin Bachynski to Dotson, and he raced down the court for a breakaway dunk with 1 second left.

Dotson's basket sealed a 70-68 comeback victory in dramatic fashion and helped the Ducks remain unbeaten in Thursday night's Pac-12 opener for both teams.
