The 6-foot-10, 265-pound sophomore, who was dominant in March in the Wolverines' run to the national title game, has been plagued with back issues since the preseason. He sat out the first two games of the season and is averaging 9.5 points and 8.3 rebounds in eight contests this season. "My back problems have been a daily challenge ever since late August," McGary said in a statement released by the school Friday. Big Ten suspends Fran McCaffery The Big Ten has suspended Iowa coach Fran McCaffery for one game Tuesday as a result of his outburst that led to his ejection during the Hawkeyes' loss at Wisconsin on Sunday. The league also publicly reprimanded McCaffery for violating the Big Ten's sportsmanship policy and fined the school $10,000. Neither the suspension nor the fine can be appealed. McCaffery will miss Thursday's game against Northwestern, and assistant Kirk Speraw will coach the Hawkeyes in his place.
