Put it this way...I would pick us in 7 against CBJ, same as Philly. Maybe a little easier 7, I would pick us in 6 over Pitt though. Don't like that team this season.

Chuck, I think richards is bought out no question age and contract make it a no brainer. If I'm Sather I'm calling nash's soft ass out now in the media and try to shame him into playing with some fire. If Nash continues as is and we somehow lose to this flyer team I think if sather doesn't see what he can get for Nash in the offseason it is a dereliction of duty. Nash is the biggest Ranger hockey mystery I have ever seen and I've been watching the rangers since the early-sixties.

That is just it, Nash is not a top player in this league anymore. At least not while wearing a Ranger jersey..

I have to agree with this, he has a long time to go still on his deal and he is not even worth 5 million a year let alone almost 8.

There will be plenty of stupid teams out there willing to give up a lot for Nash. Sather would be a moron not to trade him. He doesn't have playoff desire. Second year in a row we have seen this.

Al is in the Poconos with mrs al in a heart shaped tub and round bed. Getting a little r&r after tax season. Got to wake up and read this wonderful 25 page recap of a shitty game. I could have read this game page over a half dozen times from the past five seasons.

If we lose this series.....who does the mob lynch now.

Here's the thing Al, there isn't much in here that is off the mark. Really the only guy getting called out is Nash, and guess what...RIGHTFULLY SO. The dude has 0 goals in these playoffs. The dude has 2 goals in his 20 game playoff career. Those numbers speak for themselves really.

Now it did get into meltdown mode and the sky is falling, and while I think that is too far considering all we have done is what I fully expected us to do and what we always do, I do get it on some level. Expected or not, the fact that we put forth a flat soft effort like last night in game 4 of the 1st round when we can essentially end a series is VERY troubling.

I just do not understand why this team cannot take the easier road. 11 straight L's in the playoffs when playing for a 2 game lead in a series. Amazing numbers.

What games like last night and game 2 do is tell you this team simply cannot win a cup. They get worn down and play too many games when not truly needed.

I think we will agree here Al, I NO DOUBT believe we are the clearly better team. These games show that. Despite a flat effort we had a 2-0 lead in game 2. Despite a flat effort we controled the 1st, worst case were about even in the 2nd and 3rd, and outshot them in their place in a 10000000% must win for them.

So we are the clearly better team, which makes this worse because they are not that good, and we STILL have same old Rangers BS and make things difficult at 1-1 and 2-2.

Now I will not panic. We are where I thought we would be. Win tomorrow and we are in great shape still. BUT if we lose tomorrow, then yeah...the sky is falling for this team. BUT I do not expect that. I do expect a very big effort at MSG tomorrow afternoon.

This definately was a 7 gamer from the start, the Rangers aren't dominant enough to put anyone away in 5. And with Mason back you can see they have a little more confidence. That said the Rangers dont help themselves reverting to being too fine on the pp.

That was my one comment last night that I take into tomorrow. The Flyers are clearly more confident with Mason in goal, and they will bring that into tomorrow. That will give them a little extra push into tomorrow.

We need to combat that, and lay it to rest early as we get a few pucks by Mason, and if we actually make his life even 1% difficult and get traffic in front of him, we should score a few IMO.

Again, as frustrating as last night was, we outshot them in every period. We held them to 25 shots all game. I again think we showed we are the better team from top to bottom, BUT all that matters is 2-2 overall. I am just hoping that we don't let last nights effort and blown chance get into our minds and affect our game tomorrow. If we don't, and we play a hard game I have zero doubt we win. The only way I see the Flyers winning is their new found extra confidence combines with us being a little nervous/unsure/questioning of ourselves and creates a perfect storm where the Flyers take it to us tomorrow. I can see that, but I do not expect that.

As Ranger fans we should say business as usual. We have been the better team. We do have home ice again. We do have Hank. Let's be confident that we close this out. If we win tomorrow I FULLY expect us to win this series. So get it done tomorrow and I think we'll be fine and get this thing done.

One last comment. What did everyone really expect? If we are sitting here tomorrow at 3 up 3-2 in the series, is that such a bad place to be? I mean I know some of you said 5 and were all gung ho, but really Philly is a strong team. We had 2 more points than Philly this season. They had a terrible start just like us and then played really well. So they are a solid team.

So my point is if we are sitting here up 3-2 after the game tomorrow, should we have really expected much more? Should we really be down? I say no. That is a great spot to be in. And before the series I would have signed for 3-2 up with game 7 in our place if needed, for sure.

So in the light of day we should all chill a little. Win tomorrow and we are in very good shape. And if we do lose tomorrow...then I will be ready to jump with you guys, but I do NOT expect that to happen. We will win tomorrow I believe.

They didn't play badly overall, a tough bounce off the boards and a deflection plus not finishing a few chances themselves. Im sure the staff will get them to simplify the pp again. Unlike recent memory i think theyll win a game 5 at home but lose in game 6 setting up a finale at msg.

We are where we always are Al. That is all I have to say...:). Just because you thought were weren't going to be the NYR doesn't mean that's the way it was going to go.

Win tomorrow and we are fine. And we'd have a shot to win game 6 also of course. Take a 3-2 lead at MSG, with Hank backstopping us, and we are in great shape IMO.

rangers have put themselves in a deep hole!

nobody in beginning thought rangers would sweep, but the way they started off showed they should have! now, not only did they give the flyers momentum, but they are tiring themselves out for next series if there is 1....

but i'm sure there are some who think thats not even a possiblity

How are we in a deep hole tied 2-2 with home ice? That confuses me. If we lose tomorrow, I agree, but right now 2-2 and we are in a deep hole?

Now I do agree that when you play these extra games you play with fire and give the other team a chance to win the series AND you weaken yourself for the next round if you get there.

But at 2-2, with home ice, we are not in a deep hole.

rangers , when they don't put a team away like they should they usually pay for it!

do you really feel that confident about home ice?
